Judge Arnold O. Jones

A grand jury has indicted North Carolina Superior Court Judge Arnold Ogden Jones, II for bribing an FBI officer. From WFAE:
Jones is the Superior Court Judge for Wayne, Lenoir and Greene counties. According to court documents, in October, he sent a text message to an FBI officer, asking him to access and make copies of text messages of two telephone numbers.
Law enforcement officers are prohibited from getting telephone records without a search warrant and then only if there is probable cause that they contain evidence of a crime. Court documents state that Jones told the FBI officer it was a family matter and he wanted to keep it on the “down low.” He promised the officer his involvement would never be disclosed and the two agreed on a couple of cases of beer as payment. In November, the FBI officer met Jones in Goldsboro to give him a disk that supposedly contained the text messages and Jones paid the officer $100 in lieu of the beer.
The bribe could cost the judge a whole lot more than $100. If convicted of the bribery charges, he faces a maximum of 37 years in prison and fines totaling $750,000.
Judge Jones is also part of a special eight member committee reviewing "post-conviction claims of factual innocence."
Jones, who was elected to an 8-year term on the Superior Court bench in 2008, is the North Carolina Innocence Inquiry Commission chairman. The commission was created by the North Carolina General Assembly in 2006 and began operating in 2007. Since then, the Commission has reviewed hundreds of innocence claims and conducted multiple hearings.
how can Americans believe in a judicial system whose judges are more criminal than those they sit in judgement of?????????????????  this is one reason for the disparaging number of incarcerated racially corrupt judicial and right wing privatizers,  there is no such thing as Black privilege and no misunderstanding of who suffers most under a an illegal legal system  elected pr appointed depending on where and who impacts what section of society.  recognize

article doesn't say if FBI guy was corrupt but it also didn't say it was an ongoing investigation, who knows who you can trust any more?????????????
