Texas Restaurant That Refused 'Fag' Customers Touted As Gay Bar Online

A Texas restaurant that refused to serve "fag" customers is now getting some positive reviews online for being a "gay bar."
Internet users have taken to Yelp to write reviews about Big Earl's Bait House and Galley Cafe in Pittsburg, Texas, where a waitress told one gay couple not to returnbecause they "don't serve fags here." The waitress who made the homophobic remark is the daughter of owner Earl Cheney, and Cheney defended her sentiment.
After the story broke on local news outlets, people began writing reviews for Big Earl's claiming the Texas restaurant is actually a gay bar. Its Yelp page has been flooded with photos of same-sex couples and an image of the store's billboard has been manipulated to read "Big Gay Al's."
One Yelp review reads: "Lovely place to bring your same-sex partner to and show how much you love him/her as much as their food! The more flamboyant, the better!"
Another says: "On the positive side, it says "Bait House" but the place was more like a Bath House with all the horny Texas cowboys flirting and slapping each other's behinds. Very gay-friendly atmosphere!"

Fox News has fallen and it can't get up. Ratings for the month of May 2014, have just been published, and the numbers are devastating for Fox News. While still occupying the top slot among the cable news networks, Fox saw about a quarter of its audience dissolve across every demographic group and time period. 
Every Fox program in primetime dropped by double-digits, with Bill O'Reilly taking the deepest dive. Sean Hannity posted some of his lowest numbers ever in his new 10:00 pm time slot. And Megyn Kelly's new, and highly anticipated, primetime show failed to improve on the ratings performance of her predecessor. 
To be sure, Fox was not the only network to see declines. In fact, CNN had an even larger dip. The news was much better for MSNBC who was down the least of all the cable news networks. They lost a relatively insignificant five percent of total viewers, but actually saw increases for Morning Joe, and for Chris Hayes and Rachel Maddow in primetime. 
 For Fox to post numbers that they haven't seen since August of 2001 (before 9/11) is a painful blow to both their reputation and their bank account. But they have even bigger problems. The viewers that do tune in to Fox are significantly older than viewers of their competitors. Fox News has always had the oldest skewing audience in cable news. With a median age of 68.8 years,
 Fox's audience is over six years older than either CNN or MSNBC. It's even worse for their top rated program (O'Reilly) who's average viewer is over 72 years old. And their Great Blonde Hope (Kelly), who was specifically brought in to draw younger viewers, also exceeded Fox's average with her typical viewer voyeur being over 70. 
if this is true look for a ratcheting up of republican elephant dung, my hope is that those who are trying to buy the gov't without our consent after all gov't is suppose to be for and by the people but the people are the least common denominator in the republican equation, lose even more of their wealth than last time creating maybe a 15 %?  looks like their skulduggery is paying off, just not for them should have changed those "VALUES" now known as "PRINCIPLES", BTW OLD PEOPLE ARE VICIOUS WHEN THEY FIND OUT YOU'VE BEEN HOSING THEM. watch your back Foxettes you helped arm them! just sayin'

Fewer Americans Identify Conservative and 8 Polls on Economics Proving It’s Fewer Than Indicated

Gallup’s annual Values and Beliefs poll was released this week with the results showing the gap between those identifying as conservative and those identifying as liberal is closing greatly.  In particular, the gap on economic issues shrank quite a bit, as reported by Al Jazeera:
   With respect to economic issues, 42 percent identified as conservative, 34 percent said they were moderate and 21 percent identified as liberal. While conservative economic identification remains dominant, the 21 percent advantage over liberals is much lower than in 2010, when the conservative advantage was 36 percent.
can we trust Gallup they have had some very controversial calls since and during 2012 elections if right wing numbers are so high why did they lose by millions of votes?
The 21%, however, seems artificially small, especially when we consider views on many economic issues.  It seems clear that much of what is actually liberal policy is not recognized as such.  The example of the older gentleman at the town hall meeting angrily saying the government needs to keep its hands off of his Medicare comes to mind here.  Let’s take a look at some polling data to drive the point home.
Gallup made predictions of republican wins in 2012 and you know what happened there, so why should we believe a right wing leaning entity?

Progressive Taxes on the Wealthy
61% believe the rich are taxed too little, a number that has rarely fallen below 60% in the past two decades.  This is a clear indication of two liberal perspectives.  One, a majority are supporting a progressive tax system over the idea of a flat tax, which is just another give away to the wealthy.  And two, a majority believe some taxes are not high enough, a position commonly demonized by the right.
Minimum Wage
Roughly 70% believe the minimum wage should be increased and should be increased along with the inflation rate.  Just like taxes on the wealthy, this is also an endorsement of two liberal perspectives.
Government Job Creation
Over 70% are in favor of the government spending more to create jobs in areas like infrastructure, something that is easy to believe people have taken for granted at this point (roads, bridges, clean water, etc.) despite falling on the liberal side of the fence.

Let me introduce you to the Atlantic Beach Bikefest, more commonly called "Black Bike Week." It happens during Memorial Day weekend, when tens of thousands of black bikers descend upon an area just north of Myrtle Beach.
You might think that sounds innocuous enough. After all, it's a few thousand people on motorcycles going to a place where people tend to go during the vacation months in South Carolina. Myrtle Beach, after all, is a universally recognized seaside locale for people from around the country. Black Biker Week, though, stirs the soul of racial agitation in places like South Carolina.
For bikers, it is an opportunity to get together with like-minded people, checking out new rides and showing off one's own toy. It's a chance to celebrate Memorial Day and soak up some sun. For the local population, which is decidedly white, it's seen as a nuisance. Black Bike Week comes just after a highly popular biker rally in the area attended by mostly white bikers on Harleys. You might say that the public gets burned out by the large crowds. And in some sense, that's understandable. Bikes are loud, and when crowds flood into a place not generally arranged to handle those crowds, everything from traffic to restaurant reservations become more difficult.
But there's a nastier racist element to all of this, and as a person who has grown up in South Carolina and spent a significant amount of my childhood at that particular beach, I'm well aware of the racist roots of the criticism of Black Bike Week. The two bike weeks, at least in the circles I ran in when I was around 11, were described as "biker week" and "NON-biker week." NON? You mean, like they're not real bikers? Oh, no, that's "Nigg**s on Ninjas."
There's an ugly side to Black Bike Week, of course. Well-documented reports of irresponsible driving, public urination, disorderly conduct, drunkenness, drug use, and violence have marred the event in recent years. This culminated last weekend when three people were murdered in a local hotel adjacent to some of the event's events.
growing up we all heard of Hell's Angels and other White biker clubs who were nasty, drunken, dirty, disrespectful and scary.  peeing on the street and trash are not present with the other group of bikers?  we also know of the hyperbole that accompanies Black anything in the south the "well documented" atrocities perpetrated on those of color the proverbial yanking in the welcome mat.
this is not a one year wonder but i suspect money talks racist bigotry chills for the moment?  these two murders wouldn't be the first time Blacks were accused of killing they didn't do.
Local hotels have complained that some of the week's patrons have trashed their rooms, causing damage. Some businesses have sought to close their doors during Black Bike Week, drawing the critical eye of the NAACP, which has successfully sued restaurants for Civil Rights Act violations when those owners wanted to close their doors only during this particular week. It's part of the reason why, each year, the NAACP leads Operation Black Bike Week Justice, where it watches to ensure that visitors to the beach are not discriminated against. Just as reports of lawlessness tend to flow during the days following the event, reports of discrimination are just as numerous.
so what is the reason to fight against it the racist electorate is coming up on Nov. 4th re-election time is that the real reason their seats aren't as safe as before appeasing the bigot appetite of your base helps insure their vote, just wondering.  just for the record White bikers like rockers tear some crap up too and piss in the streets  but obviously the reason for killing Black Biker WEEK HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE OTHERS, COULD THOSE OTHERS BE THE ONE'S WHO ACTUALLY TRASHED THE ROOMS AND THEY LET THEM IKE THAT BECAUSE THE NEXT VISIT WAS BLACK BIKERS WHO THEY THAN CAN BLAME IT ON?.

An Oklahoma family accused local law enforcement of pointing his gun at two young children before shooting and killing one of their dogs, KOKH-TV reported on Friday.
The homeowner, Cindy Wickham, said the incident began when an unidentified Logan County sheriff’s deputy went to her home in Guthrie in response to reports of “screaming” in the area. At the time, Wickham was watching her two young nephews and her two dogs, Charlie and Joker, were in the yard.
Wickham said she told the deputy to stay behind the fenced entryway to the residence, since she wasn’t sure how the dogs would react.
“I said, ‘Don’t come in,’” Wickham told KOKH. “And he just went ahead and went in.”
When the deputy entered, she said, Charlie approached him and began sniffing him. At that point, the deputy allegedly pulled his gun out and pointed it at not only the dog, but Wickham and the two boys.
“It just happened so fast that I couldn’t do nothing, I couldn’t prevent it.” Wickham told KOKH. “The only thing I could do was put my nephews behind my back.”
this doesn't seem to be new we know this kind of treatment was almost mandatory for Black people but now we are hearing White kids and others.  i don't know of any way to weed out the crazed ones before handing them a gun and badge and the power it seems just to invoke that kind of their law.  warning signs you would think exist but if your chief is no different than you nothing but dead and threatened.

Of course, Robertson literally means that the girls will remove the feathers from ducks.

Duck Dynasty’s bigoted, homophobic Phil Robertson is now an official GOP hero. He was not only invited to speak at Thursday’s Republican Leadership Conference – and “brought the house down,” according to Sean Hannity – but Robertson followed that up with a two-segment interview on the Hannity show. There he doubled down on his disgust at "perversion," which I think we can all agree is a code word for "gay."

Those comments so repulsed people that Robertson was suspended from A&E, though he was soon reinstated. But to Hannity and his Republican BFFs, that just seems to make Robertson all the more appealing.
sure he was suspended more for appearances than any kind of punishment like Imus and the rest who push the envelope he's back in business in a couple of weeks.

Sean Hannity Ignores Obama Administration's Efforts To Provide Care To Waiting Veterans

Fox News host Sean Hannity smeared the Obama administration when he claimed that it wouldn't take immediate steps to provide medical care for veterans that were reportedly kept off an official waiting list in the Phoenix, Arizona Veterans Affairs (VA)  health care system. In reality, VA Secretary Eric Shinseki ordered the 1,700 veterans to be immediately triaged for care after an Inspector General (IG) report found that they were not on an official waiting list for medical care, a fact that even FoxNews.com reported.
On May 28, the VA Office of Inspector General released a preliminary report on its investigation into allegations that veterans died due to the manipulation of appointments and wait lists. The report found that at least 1,700 veterans waiting to see a doctor were never scheduled for an appointment or placed on a waitlist at the Phoenix, Arizona VA medical center. It included the following recommendation:

We recommend the VA Secretary take immediate action to review and provide appropriate health care to the 1,700 veterans we identified as not being on any existing wait list.
When Sean Hannity mentioned this report on his Fox News show Wednesday night, he was quick to suggest that the administration would not take action to get these veterans needed medical care
HANNITY: Why isn't there more urgency if these guys need health care that we promised them after serving the country, where is the 1-800 number that they can call and get immediate assistance so that more people don't die? Where is the group of doctors that would assess the -- on a need basis, who prioritize, who gets taken care of first? That's what I think I would do if I were president, which would never happen. But that seems to be the common sense answer. The president said he's going to investigate.

no the most convenient way is to deny it and demean those that try labeling them as race baiters followed by sticking their heads in the sand.  what the educated house "N's" don't mention that those things that are blamed are because of an over abundance of examples to qualify it.  refusing background checks are tantamount to not discussing and denying it as a start by claiming it invalid for gun purchasing.  drinking and carry permits that story is waiting in the wings for it's turn.

If I was the president, and that will never happen because I am not insane and neither are you, I'd be pretty pleased with having the still-proud architect of some of the biggest foreign policy disasters in the last half-century peeved at me.

Cheney went on to say that during a recent trip to the Middle East, allies he had “dealt with all the way back to Desert Storm” expressed alarm at the president’s handling of foreign policy.
What kind of people do you suppose Cheney meets with, in the Middle East? Meeting for tea and crumpets with Ahmed Chalabi? A teary reunion with a fellow dubbed "Curveball?" A collection of depressed arms dealers pining for the good old days of Bush and Reagan?
“They all are absolutely convinced that the American capacity to lead and influence in that part of the world has been dramatically reduced by this president,” Cheney said. “We’ve got a problem with weakness, and it’s centered right in the White House.”
This is all part of that baffling conservative notion of strength and weakness where having New York and the Pentagon attacked by terrorists shows you are strong, and putting a bullet in the head of the person who masterminded it without having to wander blindly through a pair of poorly premised and abominably executed wars shows you are weak

what kind of man ignores threats repeatedly about impending attacks by Bin Laden that leads to 911 and thousands on both sides dead.  we know their objective was getting Iraqi oil.

is Bush seen as stronger as he sat in that chair like he peed his pants when he got the word of what his inaction caused, saying he didn't want to scare the kids, but don't you think that i just pooped my pants look tells those kids something?  this IMO was Cheyney's war and Bush just following orders.

In a Miami auditorium less than three miles from where slain teen Trayvon Martin is buried, his friend Rachel Jeantel on Friday was presented her high school diploma, fulfilling the promise she said she made him.
The moment was even more poignant with Martin’s mother, Sybrina Fulton, looking on.
“Her coming is like having Trayvon there saying, ‘You did it. You proved people wrong,’” Jeantel told Yahoo News.
Jeantel was talking on the phone with Martin, 17, in the last moments of his life on Feb. 26, 2012. The unarmed black teenager was shot and killed by George Zimmerman, then 28, as the two fought on a dark neighborhood sidewalk in a gated community in Sanford, Florida. The case roused a national conversation about racial profiling, self-defense, gun control, vigilantism, civil rights and more.
Jeantel was a key prosecution witness, but her demeanor and speech on the stand often detracted from her testimony. Then 19, she used terms such as “creepy" and “cracker” to describe Zimmerman, whom she said was aggressively following Trayvon before their phone call was silenced during the scuffle.
you know a really great answer to those who tried to demean, invalidate and make fun of her, if this were to lead to further education and one day being voted into a high office, it would not quell the racist from still dragging out the old familiar dead horse and try to steal her glory but in their heads they would know the truth of the lies and innuendo they promote and continue to until.....?

DENVER (AP) — Colorado's Civil Rights Commission on Friday ordered a baker to make wedding cakes for same-sex couples, finding his religious objections to the practice did not trump the state's anti-discrimination statutes.
The unanimous ruling from the seven-member commission upheld an administrative law judge's finding in December that Jack Phillips violated civil rights law when he refused to make a wedding cake for a gay couple in 2012. The couple sued.
i love seeing America becoming the America we have perpetrated for centuries. this started off with courts favoring the bigots but now we are seeing a 180 on the subject of legitimacy of same sex marriage.  "LIFE, LIBERTY AND THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS" is waking and being realized more than ever before and truly living up to the Declaration of Independence.

Daughter of Sandy Hook principal responds to Joe the Plumber

You may remember that Samuel "Joe the Plumber" Wurzelbacher had the gall to tell the victims of the Santa Barbara shooting that "your dead kids don't trump my constitutional rights."  When Erica Lafferty, the daughter of Sandy Hook principal Dawn Hochsprung, saw this, she felt that she had to respond.  And she did, with an op-ed in The Daily Beast.
It’s actually refreshing to see his comments so unvarnished, so closely removed from this poor kid’s murder. And I wouldn’t have dignified his disgusting comments with a response if it didn’t follow such a disturbing pattern among gun extremists in this country.
In fact, his comments quite clearly encapsulate the id of the small faction of extremists who are influencing our country’s gun laws. Your loss doesn’t matter if it inconveniences me one bit. Gun violence may be real—and it may be 20 times worse here than in any other developed country—but I don’t have a solution for it, except to buy more guns and intimidate more victims.
 Wow.  That's a lot more restrained than I would have been.  I really have to wonder where Joe the Plumber shops, because I don't think there's a store in Toledo where you can buy balls as big as the ones he apparently has.  Six parents are put in a position no parent should be in--burying their kids--and he has the nerve to tell them that their lives don't trump his right to own a gun?  I'd pay money to see if Joe the Plumber is brave enough to say that to the face of Richard Martinez and the other victims' parents.
Erica isn't just voicing an opinion when she says Joe the Plumber is way out of touch.  She cites a poll from Frank Luntz that found 82 percent of gun owners--including 74 percent of NRA members--support background checks for those wanting to buy a gun.  In other words, for every  Joe the Plumber, there are probably two or three people like Erica's colleague at Everytown for Gun Safety, Jennifer Longdon, a gun owner and self-described Second Amendment supporter who was left paralyzed when the car she was sitting in was raked with bullets.  She thinks it's about time for that majority to prove Joe the Plumber wrong.  "If prioritizing guns over dead kids makes you angry," she says, "stand up and drown his words out with action."  
If more people heed Erica's words, we can end the disgraceful spectacle where an unelected lobbyist who should have been kicked out of the conversation 21 years ago can keep a bill that is supported by the overwhelming majority of the people from even coming up for a vote.
this is the power we perceive the NRA and right wing gun advocates have, not realizing that we are much more than them and their money and bought politicians, we are voters that comes with much more volume.  we need to believe in ourselves like we did in 08 and 12 we still got it like that flex your muscle raise your voice and punch, pull tap or click and no hanging chads this time vote like it's a lifeboat and you're in the middle of the Pacific holding on to a piece of wood, yeah it's that important.
