Tucson Group Will Give Free Shotguns to Residents - Organizer says push will be in high-crime zones

http://www.newser.com/story/165209/tucson-group-will-give-free-shotguns-to-residents.html

everybody has a gun, everybody becomes a target. recognize
Article PhotoNewser) – A former mayoral candidate in Tucson plans to provide residents of high-crime neighborhoods with free shotguns to defend themselves, reports the Arizona Daily Star. Shaun McClusky has raised $12,000 for the project so far, and his group plans to hand out the first weapons within 60 days. He figures it will cost up to $400 per person to provide a gun, ammo, and training, plus a background check.
shouldn't background checks be done first before purchase, what do they do if half have records probably give them to them anyway, after all they are fighting crime, or are the promoting it
"We need to take back our city, and it needs to come back to the citizens and not the criminals," says McClusky.
well they may as well gear up for a slaying in the making, cat knocks over tras can they all run out locked and loaded, see each others shadows and ok corral is on.
To suggest that giving away loaded shotguns in high-crime areas will make anybody safer is pure idiocy."
tp pass out loaded guns to people untrained and unnerved does not instill safety or emboldenment it just create paranoid potential killers and dead bodies.

Cardinal Dolan To Gay Couples: You're Only 'Entitled To Friendship'

are the Cardinals start a coup already?
Cardinal Timothy Dolan told ABC’s This Week on Sunday that gay people are entitled to “friendship” but not a long-last romantic relationship in the eyes of the Catholic Church.
Appearing on the program following oral arguments at the Supreme Court challenging the constitutionality of two laws targeting gay and lesbian couples, Dolan said that the Church should treat same-sex couples with love, while reminding them that “sexual love…is intended only for a man and a woman”:
that has got to be the second dunbest thing i've ever heard right up there with "just say no" and abstinence.
GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS (HOST): And you know, especially this week – because it's been at the top of the news – for many gay and lesbian Americans –– gay and lesbian Catholics, they feel unwelcome –– in the Church. And what do you say as a minister, as a pastor – to a gay couple that comes to you and say, "We love God. We love the Church. But we also love each other, and we –– want to raise a family in faith. What do you say to them?
DOLAN: Well, the first thing I'd say to them is, "I love you, too. And God loves you. And you are made in God's image and likeness. And – and we – we want your happiness. But – and you're entitled to friendship." But we also know that God has told us that the way to happiness, that – especially when it comes to sexual love – that is intended only for a man and woman in marriage, where children can come about naturally. We gotta be – we gotta do better to see that our defense of marriage is not reduced to an attack on gay people. And I admit, we haven't been too good at that.
wonder how many parishoners will vacate behind that not so welcome mat, these guys are sounding mor and more like republicans, 'we love you, God loves you, but you are only entitled....??   wonder does he think God signed off on that one?
sorry Cardinal or not it does not give him a free bigot card.

Eyes Turn to White Supremacist Gangs in Murder of Two Texas Prosecutors

http://talkingpointsmemo.com/news/eyes-turn-to-white-supremacist-gangs-in-murder-of-two-texas-prosecutors.php?ref=fpa

Article PhotoKAUFMAN, Texas (AP) — Kaufman County District Attorney Mike McLelland took no chances after one of his assistant prosecutors was assassinated two months ago. McLelland said he carried a gun everywhere he went and took extra care when answering the door at his home.
“I’m ahead of everybody else because, basically, I’m a soldier,” the 23-year Army veteran boasted in an interview less than two weeks ago.
On Saturday, he and his wife were found dead in their home just outside the town of Forney, about 20 miles from Dallas, killed in an attack for which authorities have given no motive.
“Everybody’s a little on edge and a little shocked,” Forney Mayor Darren Rozell said. “It appears this was not a random act.”
The killings came less than two weeks after Colorado’s prison chief was gunned down at his front door by a white-supremacist ex-convict, and two months after Kaufman County Assistant District Attorney Mark Hasse was shot to death in a parking lot a block from his office Jan. 31. No arrests have been made in Hasse’s slaying.
should they have seen this coming or did they think they only shot "other people"?
Kaufman County Sheriff David Byrnes confirmed Sunday that the McLellands had been shot. As for whether their deaths were related to Hasse’s slaying, Byrnes said there was nothing to indicate that “for sure,” but declined to discuss it further during a news conference.
McLelland himself, in an Associated Press interview, raised the possibility that Hasse was gunned down by a white supremacist gang. McLelland, elected DA in 2010, said that Hasse hadn’t prosecuted any cases against white supremacists but that his office had handled several, and those gangs had a strong presence in the area.
“We put some real dents in the Aryan Brotherhood around here in the past year,” McLelland said after Colorado’s corrections director, Tom Clements, was shot to death March 19 when he answered the doorbell.
wonder how many of their own have to be shot before it starts to sink in that maybe guns for vryone is not such a good idea?   why is there a heavy prsence of Klan there today why weren't they disbanded a long time ao, and what crimes wre they committing to get that dent put in their numbers?
McLelland, 63, said after Hasse’s slaying that he carried a gun everywhere he went, even to walk his dog. He figured that was where assassins were more likely to try to get him. He said he had warned all his employees to be constantly on the alert.
is this a testament for or against oo many guns in anybodies hands?

Marco Rubio: Reports of immigration deal 'premature'

http://www.politico.com/story/2013/03/marco-rubio-reports-of-immigration-deal-premature-89493.html?hp=f2

Article PhotoSen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) issued an Easter morning statement saying he is “encouraged” by progress in talks on immigration reform, but added: “Reports that the bipartisan group of eight senators have agreed on a legislative proposal are premature.”
The headline of his statement, timed for release just before the Sunday talk shows: “Rubio: No final agreement on immigration legislation yet.”
Rubio, whose support is crucial if the Senate’s “Gang of Eight” is to have a deal, spoke out a day after business and union groups signed off on a temporary-worker program that appeared to be the biggest remaining hurdle for Senate negotiators.
Officials close to the negotiations say the Senate group is on track to announce a deal shortly after the Senate returns the second week of April. But Rubio made it clear in his statement that he won’t be rushed.
Hispanic brethren, this guy is holding up your future, and he will not be rushed to help you.
“We have made substantial progress, and I believe we will be able to agree on a legislative proposal that modernizes our legal immigration system, improves border security and enforcement and allows those here illegally to earn the chance to one day apply for permanent residency contingent upon certain triggers being met. However, that legislation will only be a starting point.
“We will need a healthy public debate that includes committee hearings and the opportunity for other senators to improve our legislation with their own amendments. Eight senators from seven states have worked on this bill to serve as a starting point for discussion about fixing our broken immigration system. But arriving at a final product will require it to be properly submitted for the American people’s consideration, through the other 92 senators from 43 states that weren’t part of this initial drafting process. In order to succeed, this process cannot be rushed or done in secret.”
this does not sound like substantial anything but republican blocking, he's talking about a healthy debate with who his other right wing stallers, the Dems and the people are in the majority for this to happen, for him to say that then he's admitting his party is not.
i've written before no matter how silver tongued some might think he is he is a republican above paragraphs confirm that and their lack of commitment to immigration fair or otherwise, they do however like walls, electric fences and self deportation to their credit.

Oil Industry Linked To Earthquake, BP Dukes It Out With Halliburton, Pipeline Bursts In Arkansas

http://www.addictinginfo.org/2013/03/30/oil-industry-linked-to-earthquake-bp-dukes-it-out-with-halliburton-pipeline-bursts-in-arkansas-video/

Article PhotoKind of a slimy week in the U.S. (No, I’m not taking about Rush Limbaugh, but be my guest.) This is about oil. Black oil. Texas Tea.
On Tuesday, a scientific study reported by National Geographic’s Daily News, showed Oklahoma’s largest earthquake with a magnitude of 5.9, may well have been tied to fracking: wastewater injection from oil and natural gas production, raising new concerns about oil company practices.
On WednesdayHalliburton’s witness testified during the ongoing BP trial.
On FridayExxon Mobile’s Pegus Pipeline ruptured and the leaking oil was heading for Conway Lake. The residents of 40 homes in Mayflower, Arkansas, were forced to evacuate.
An Exxon spokesperson issued a written statement Friday evening. It read:
ExxonMobil Pipeline Company is responding to a crude oil spill near Mayflower, [AR]. We are working with emergency responders and local authorities to respond to the incident and are establishing an information line for community support.
We regret that this incident has occurred and we apologize for any disruption or inconvenience this has caused.
The matter is under investigation. We will provide updated information as soon as it becomes available.
(The Pegasus Pipeline was down for a week of maintenance in mid-December of 2012, possibly a starting point for determining what caused Friday’s spill.)
and the republican Keystone choir accompanied by the i don't have a clue because i heard it on Fox back up, the band plays on singing the praises of the Keystone pipline the same one that has not been fully investigated as to safety to those states affected by it's presence.
as far as Exxon haven't we heard almost verbatim that same line from BP 2010?
Advanced methods of oil and gas drilling create massive amounts of toxic wastewater. For example, hydraulic fracturing, also known as fracking, uses high-pressure water to unlock natural gas from shale formations. Drillers also use water to force oil from wells that cannot be captured through traditional methods, part of a practice known as “enhanced oil recovery.” (See related interactive: “Breaking Fuel from the Rock.”)
The use of such methods has exploded in the United States in recent years, contributing to the domestic boom in shale gas and oil production. Much of the wastewater that emerges as a byproduct is pumped into wells beneath the earth’s surface for disposal.
Not a good week for the oil industry. Not a good week for the environment. And not too good week a for us humans, either.
BP oil spill, wasn't that the same year 2010 republicans talked their base into voting for them because of jobs 20,000 on the pipeline alone, and they rejected the Pres.'s jobs bill which would have created antwhere rom 800,00 to million plus.

Arizona Wants To See Your ID Before You Use The Restroom

http://www.addictinginfo.org/2013/03/30/arizona-wants-to-see-your-id-before-you-use-the-restroom/

restroom2Arizona is at it again. Just one month after the Phoenix City Council voted to amend an anti-discrimination law to include lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals, Arizona lawmakers have just passed a bill that overrides some of those protections.  Arizona Senate Bill SB 1045, authored by Rep. John Kavanagh (R-AZ), originally sought to make it a Class 1 Misdemeanor for transgender individuals to use a bathroom other than one that aligns with the gender on their birth certificate.  At first you might not recognize the inherent discrimination in this bill, so allow me to elaborate.
Gender identity is an important aspect of a person’s self-concept and self-esteem, especially in childhood, and has a considerable impact on development, social opportunities, occupational goals, and several other aspects of personal growth.  People who are transgender identify with a gender that is different from their biological one.  In other words, someone who was born as a biological male would identify themselves as female and vice versa.  This disparity usually begins early in life (typically, before the age of five) and carries on into adulthood. People who are transgender live and dress in a way that matches the gender they feel they truly are, not the gender that matches their physical body.
those whose espouse these kinds of overly bigoted idiotlogies need to take a stroll through their minds sometime, those who vote for persons who support this exclusionary agenda can they in reallity and by description call themselves Christian or American?

IMO if all these haters were exiled to their own place like Arizona or Texas or No. Dakota with no one else to hate how long before the pettiness turns on themselves, that i would only wish on those who oppose.

Pope’s Foot-Wash a Final Straw for Traditionalist Catholics

Article Photohttp://talkingpointsmemo.com/news/popes-foot-wash-a-final-straw-for-traditionalist-catholics.php?ref=fpa

final straw, can they fire him?

not a Catholic, but i posted earlier about how it would be taken by the the inmates he was minisering to?  did not think so much about the regular parishoner, igess cause that story was about those teens and not abot the general faith as a whole.
VATICAN CITY (AP) — Pope Francis has won over many hearts and minds with his simple style and focus on serving the world’s poorest, but he has devastated traditionalist Catholics who adored his predecessor, Benedict XVI, for restoring much of the traditional pomp to the papacy.
Francis’ decision to disregard church law and wash the feet of two girls — a Serbian Muslim and an Italian Catholic — during a Holy Thursday ritual has become something of the final straw, evidence that Francis has little or no interest in one of the key priorities of Benedict’s papacy: reviving the pre-Vatican II traditions of the Catholic Church.
One of the most-read traditionalist blogs, “Rorate Caeli,” reacted to the foot-washing ceremony by declaring the death of Benedict’s eight-year project to correct what he considered the botched interpretations of the Second Vatican Council’s modernizing reforms.
if i'm understanding this correctly this person claims the new Pope, usurped the old Pope's plan at reform, from the outside looking in he failed big time, what the public perceives them to be is as they always were, especially with the dishonored priest.
98% of the parishoners using or have used birth control tqo very important issues of long standing IMO.
A like-minded commentator in Francis’ native Argentina, Marcelo Gonzalez at International Catholic Panorama, reacted to Francis’ election with this phrase: “The Horror.” Gonzalez’s beef? While serving as the archbishop of Buenos Aires, the then-Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio’s efforts to revive the old Latin Mass so dear to Benedict and traditionalists were “non-existent.”
151  of these guys go in a room vote on who is the holiest among them they do it then the pomp and circumstance, now buyer's remorse??  and why are they immeadiately say he his ruining the other Popes failures, thought they were looking for a new experience and change within the church, i guess the change they want not what they got.
i always saw Pope's as pretty much figure heads and Benedict as a puppet no disrespect, now they have one who seems to be a 21st century Renaissance Pope, and all they want is status quo. hope i make no enemies this is a lay persons pov.

Schools Caught Cheating In Atlanta, Around The Country

Article Photohttp://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/08/08/atlanta-schools-cheating-scandal-ripples-across-country_n_919509.html

In an Ikea-sized warehouse turned de facto crime lab last fall, professor Gregory Cizek got his first look at the Atlanta test papers that would beget an education scandal of historic proportions.
Cizek, who teaches at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, is a leading figure in psychometrics, the obscure field of mental measurement that includes setting and deciphering testing standards. He is often asked to seek out proof of tampering with student work. This case, however, was different.
In the Indianapolis warehouse, far from both his office and the schools where the suspect tests were taken, he saw clear evidence of what has become the most widespread episode of cheating ever documented in U.S. public schools, one which has diminished one of the nation's few education success stories of the past decade.
with all the blocking attempts by the republican congress to lessen education prospects and limit who can go to college by fighting pell grants. now this this is educational treason.
if this had gone unnoticed the kids would be the biggest losers, being put out in this world of now without the education needed to get a job, and all those who did get the education and can't get a job, you know the formers chances are slim and none.
they should get life, for betraying the people and denying the students the pursuit of happiness because of under cutting their education.
The 413-page report reads like a thriller, with tales of teachers holding "erasure parties" and principals publicly humiliating their employees. "A culture of fear and a conspiracy of silence infected the school system, and kept many teachers from teaching freely about misconduct," the report's authors concluded.
i'm without words here.

How Obama Decided God Was OK With Marriage Equality

http://www.buzzfeed.com/evanmcsan/how-obama-decided-god-was-ok-with-marriage-equality
Article Photo

i take umbrage to this title set and this authors preconceived notion that Pres. presumably knew that God was alright with Gay marriage.
WASHINGTON — In 2004, Barack Obama cited his Christian faith while explaining his opposition to same-sex marriage. "What I believe, in my faith, is that a man and a woman, when they get married, are performing something before God, and it's not simply the two persons who are meeting," he said.
Eight years later, he cited his faith again when he became the first sitting president to endorse marriage equality.
"When we think about our faith, the thing at root that we think about is not only Christ sacrificing himself on our behalf, but it's also the Golden Rule, you know? Treat others the way you'd want to be treated," Obama said.
problem: not everyone especially those on the right think that first, they start off their day with "who should i hat on first?  golden rule how many of them would be able to withstand the ongoing onsluaght of vitriol they throw at the Pres., they follow very few of the Commandments they prove that daily.
although the Bible does not condone homosexuallity it dose not say God HATES THEM, as many signs you see carried by those who oppose.
What changed in Obama's understanding of the Bible and Christianity between 2004 and 2012 is one of the last mysteries of his transformation from opponent to champion of marriage equality. While the president has explained this evolution in personal and political terms — citing conversations with gay friends, and the changing attitudes of the public — he has never directly explained how he came to believe that God approves of same-sex marriage.
because he never stated he believes that that is putting words in places they were not, square peg round hole syndrome.
wonder if and how far they will go with the new Pope and his expressed unorthodox approach to Catholicism?
and they told you he was a Muslim.

Rand Paul hits Hollywood on gun control

http://www.politico.com/story/2013/03/rand-paul-gun-control-89452.html?hp=r7

Sen. Rand Paul says there’s “a certain amount of hypocrisy” that the same Hollywood celebrities and prominent politicians — including President Barack Obama and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg — who are calling for gun control are also benefiting from armed protection themselves.
“I don’t begrudge any famous person like Mayor Bloomberg, or the president or the president’s family for having protection — I think they all should. There’s enough crazy people out there that would attack on the right or the left. But I think when you are being protected by people who have weapons by responsible people, I can’t see why you would be opposed to that for other people,” Paul, a Kentucky Republican, said Thursday on Fox News’s “Hannity” to guest-host Eric Bolling.
was this guy just equating armed protection for celebs or high scale politicians or dignitary's with mass murderers?  notice also how the conveniently always sip in that "both sides do it thing", well check this out
racist, rednecks, supremist, skinheads, neo Nazi's don't tend to vote progressive, kinda dampens their ability to get those WMD's to commit those mass murders.
He continued: “Many rich Hollywood celebrities have armed guards with them at all times and many regular people who live in a poor neighborhood, who have a business in a poor neighborhood and a neighborhood that may have higher crime — those people have to suffer the vicissitudes of violent crime without protection sometimes because of gun control laws. So, yes, I think there is a certain amount of hypocrisy.”
yup, he's right and you just read it from him, they have lied so much and often you would think they would have cultivatd it by now, bt they are getting worse and more transparent.

Actor Jim Carrey Humiliates Fox News, Calls Them A ‘Media Colostomy Bag

http://www.addictinginfo.org/2013/03/30/actor-jim-carrey-humiliates-fox-news-calls-them-a-media-colostomy-bag/
Article Photo
After being attacked by Fox News’ Greg Gutfeld for a Funny or Die anti-NRA video in which Carrey mocked Charlton Heston, the Canadian actor released a statement in which he refers to Fox as a “media colostomy bag” full of “kinda-sorta-almost journalists” who have become a “giant culture fart” in society. Here’s the full press release via Hollywood Reporter:
“Since I released my “Cold Dead Hand” video on Funny or Die this week, I have watched Fux News rant, rave, bare its fangs and viciously slander me because of my stand against large magazines and assault rifles. I would take them to task legally if I felt they were worth my time or that anyone with a brain in their head could actually fall for such irresponsible buffoonery. That would gain them far too much attention which is all they really care about.
“I’ll just say this: in my opinion Fux (sic) News is a last resort for kinda-sorta-almost-journalists whose options have been severely limited by their extreme and intolerant views; a media colostomy bag that has begun to burst at the seams and should be emptied before it becomes a public health issue.
“I sincerely believe that in time, good people will lose patience with the petty and poisonous behavior of these bullies and Fux (sic) News will be remembered as nothing more than a giant culture fart that no amount of Garlique could cure.
“I wish them all the luck that accompanies such malevolence.”
do the Fox people really believe the garbage they spew or are they getting really big checks to lie, not like it wasn't their plan.
Isn’t that epic? In the war between Hollywood and Fox News, yet another battle has been won by the left coast. Fox News involved themselves in a fight it couldn’t possibly win. One should never criticize a comedian and hope to get away with it unscathed
arrogance blocked all reason they should no better than to engage a comedian who does this stuff in his sleep, i wonder do these guys ever feel like the fell in a hole with everybody looking down on them?

Russia urges US and North Korea to show restraint

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2013/mar/30/russia-us-north-korea-restraint
Article PhotoRussia has urged the US and North Korea to show restraint after Pyongyang said it was entering a "state of war" with South Korea in a further escalation of its bellicose rhetoric.
"We hope that all parties will exercise maximum responsibility and restraint and no one will cross the point of no return," said senior Russian foreign ministry official Grigory Logvinov on Saturday.
On Friday the Pentagon declared that the US was flly capable of defending itself and its allies against a missile attack from North Korea, whose leader, Kim Jong-un, had declared that rockets were ready to be fired at American bases in the Pacific. Kim's words came in response to the US flying two nuclear-capable B-2 stealth bombers over the Korean peninsula this week.
could there be a more personal involvement for Russia, like they border No. Korea only for 17 kms, but close enough for residual radiation, just sayin'.
"We have made clear to North Korea that its long-term interests will only be served by constructive engagement with the international community. These threatening statements will only seek to isolate it further," he said.
"The armistice agreement has enabled the Korean peninsula to benefit from 60 years' peace. Maintaining it is in the best interests of all."
IMO there is a behind the scene inflence that may be goading him on or it cold be another Bush 41 v. Bush 43  he needs to out do daddy dear leader.

Why Is SCOTUS Hearing Religious Matters?

http://www.independentsentinel.com/2013/03/why-is-scotus-hearing-religious-matters/

Article PhotoI’m Catholic and certainly don’t approve of same-sex marriage, but I’m also wise enough to know that not everyone is following my religious path and doctrines.  But, aside from my religious beliefs, I’m finding it more and more difficult to understand how the so-called separation of church and state can be applied to subject matter that directly involves one of the three components of American government.
Everyone agrees that we have three branches of Government – the President, the House and Senate (Legislature) and the Supreme Court.  The members of that Supreme Court are nominated by the President and voted upon by the Senate.  Clearly, those two branches of government play a special role with regard to the Court, and the Court goes about its business, dealing primarily in the constitutionality of various laws passed by the Legislature and signed into law by the President.  All three branches with direct involvement with one-another.
Marriage, in the context of two people joined together in holy matrimony, regardless of their gender, is – to me, at least –  more of a religious matter and, therefore, would be at or near the top of the list of things the government should NOT be involved in.  And that includes laws such as the Defense of Marriage Act.
If there’s supposed to be a separation of church and state, why is the state involved in marriage in any form or fashion?
i think the state has to get involved if not then those like hate filled evangelical teachings would permeate the country, have we forgotten the reason they left England RELIGIOUS PERSECUTION just like those they fled that exerted such power over them in the name of God, they come here and embark on the same trip they were fleeing.
those founding guys were slave owners that in itself is ignoring the Bible teachings, look at the power that televangelist have over those gullible by need to seek salvation.
i believe those laws were instituted to allow them free reign as their previous leaders had over them, you do what you know.
Somewhere along the line, proponents of same-sex marriage have changed the definition of marriage to something more closely resembling a business-like, contractual “deal”, if you will, and removed the religious connotation from the mix.  That started several years ago when individual states authorized civil unions.  Most were reluctant to include the word “marriage” to that legislation because to do so would have invoked the very “benefits” they would derive; not to mention the ramifications of religious voters.
that entire paragraph comes off as if the religious of this country however perverted it is in some places is more important then those of say another religion or those who may not believe, they say they don't want the gov't in their bedrooms and other places but feel totally obligated to insert their beliefs in yours.
organized religion is not the religion the Bible speaks of, the same as those holier than thou feel Gay's and others are abominations and only are subject of their discuss, but try putting that shoe on the other foot, looks the same to me

FBI Affidavit: U.S. Army Vet Used 'Weapon of Mass Destruction' in Syria

http://www.usnews.com/news/newsgram/articles/2013/03/29/fbi-affidavit-us-army-vet-used-weapon-of-mass-destruction-in-syria

Article PhotoThirty-year-old U.S. Army veteran Eric Harroun was charged Thursday with violating U.S. law byfighting with Syrian rebels to depose Bashar al-Assad.
Harroun was charged with "conspiring to use a destructive device outside the United States" after telling FBI agents that he used rocket-propelled grenades against Syria's military. Harroun entered Syria in January and ultimately joined up with Al Nusrah fighters, which the U.S. says are aligned with al-Qaida. He boasted about his war exploits on Facebook, including the downing of a Syrian government helicopter.
An affidavit drafted by FBI agent Paul Higginbotham reads: "There is probable cause to believe that, in or about January 2013 to March 2013, Eric Harroun conspired to use a weapon of mass destruction, i.e. a Rocket Propelled Grenade, outside of the United States, in violation of 18 U.S.C. 2332a(b)."
i don't know what goes through the heads of those ex or mercenary aside from money, maybe that's enough of an inducer to go abroad and engage with other countries, that is interfering with potential talks or cold be sited by our enemies as a US invasive aggression crating something more then might have been had they stayed out.
there should be some sore of severe reprimand who knows what could have been nullified by their gung ho unpatriotic efforts that was not acting in the best interest of the US.
Mueller noted in a 2009 Foreign Policy article that the definition for "weapon of mass destruction" in 18 U.S.C. 2332a includes "any destructive device as defined in section 921 of this title." The definition for "destructive device" reads:
(A) any explosive, incendiary, or poison gas --
(i) bomb,
(ii) grenade,
(iii) rocket having a propellant charge of more than four ounces,
(iv) missile having an explosive or incendiary charge of more than one-quarter ounce,
(v) mine, or
(vi) device similar to any of the devices described in the preceding clauses;
people need to check themselves before the jump in the fire, let those responsible for America's business handle it, if they don't there are times when you can vote them the hell out, 2014.  we saw what a scrambled mess Romney and the republicans created when they insert themselves where they are not suppose to be.

Is Alaska the Worst State in the Nation for Women?

http://shine.yahoo.com/healthy-living/is-alaska-the-worst-state-in-the-nation-for-women--202627073.html

Article PhotoA newly issued Alaska State Legislature report held some grim findings about women living in the Last Frontier: They earn less than men, were imprisoned at a higher rate during the past 10 years, and have a suicide rate that’s twice the national average, among other problems, including homelessness and a lack of health care.
Senator McGuire requested the Status of Women Report after reviewing a 2010 Alaska Victimization Survey, which interviewed nearly 1,000 women and found that 59 percent have experienced domestic abuse, sexual violence, or both.
“We were waiting until the timing was right to release the report,” McGuire’s legislative aide Amy Saltzman told Yahoo! Shine, explaining that the office had spent the start of 2013 mired in issues including the recently passed oil tax bill.
who knew?
Alaskan women are slightly more likely to have health coverage than Alaskan men, but the coverage for Alaskan women is still below the national average, with 21 percent going without (compared to the national rate of 20).
In the mental-health realm, the suicide rate for women in Alaska is twice as high as the rate nationally—nearly 10 percent of girls in high school attempted suicide in 2011. In addition, nearly two-thirds of Alaskan women were found to be in treatment for alcohol related problems, compared to just one-third nationwide.
As far as homelessness is concerned, only 25 percent of single people in shelters were female in 2012—but, for adults in shelters considered part of a family, 62 percent were women with children. The report cited domestic violence—which has rates in Alaska among the country’s highest—as a major cause of homelessness for women and children.
boy Palin never mentioned any of this just painted a picture of wonderment, think that might have been why she took first opportunity to get the hell out of there even the governors crap was ragedy if she bolted after half a term.
