Obama's approval rating hits two-year high

Following what was perhaps the most remarkable week in Barack Obama’s presidency — one in which he secured an important victory in Congress on trade, was handed two historic Supreme Court wins (on health care and gay marriage), and delivered a moving eulogy at the funeral of the Rev. Clementa Pinckney, leading mourners in singing “Amazing Grace” — his approval rating is at a two-year high.
According to a new CNN/ORC poll released Tuesday, 50 percent of Americans approve of the way Obama is handling his presidency — which is up 5 points over the most recent survey and his highest approval rating since May 2013.
The survey found that 47 percent disapprove of President Obama, which is down 5 points since May (when 52 percent disapproved of his handling of the presidency) and marks just the second time in two years his disapproval rating has fallen below 50 percent.
There are two reasons for the jump in Obama’s approval rating, the survey found: his handling of race relations and the economy.
On the economy, 52 percent approve of the job Obama is doing — up 6 points since May and the first time it has been above 50 percent in nearly six years in the CNN/ORC poll.
Meanwhile, 55 percent of Americans approve of the way the president is handling race relations, including his response to the church shooting in Charleston, S.C., where nine people, including Pinckney, were killed by a white gunman on June 17 in what police are treating as a hate crime. Just 42 percent disapprove of how he is handling race relations, the poll found.
Obama’s approval rating, however, is largely divided along racial lines. Among African-Americans, 91 percent approve of the way Obama is handling his presidency, compared with just 39 percent among whites.
as much as i think it's not truly representative of the higher numbers i think he really deserves it still makes me feel American are ungrateful and don't fully realize where they could be and where they will be if they favor those who impose their will despite what we say and need them to do

while Pres. has done nothing less than serve the people and do our work and yet less than half think he's doing a bad job how they have nothing to compare it to republicans have done nothing but obstruct so can you blame a guy for not getting to work on time when an asteroid destroyed his home, car, roads and the building where he worked??????

American fickle electorate is who keeps us in this quagmire voting against interest they claimed many Blacks voted for Pres. because he's Black well just as many Whites voted against him for the same reason and look what happen a 7 year delay in economic advancement that my friends cannot be denied.

Simple and elegant, Gay Men's Chorus sings The Star-Spangled Banner at the foot of the Supreme Court

Gay Men's Chorus of Washington DC sings National Anthem at Supreme Court steps to celebrate Gay Marriage decision

Washington DC's Gay Men's Chorus came to the Supreme Court steps to celebrate today's historic decision striking down gay marriage bans across the United States of America. Appropriately, they sang "The Star-Spangled Banner."
Like the nature of the song—which was inspired not by our American Revolution but by a smaller victory during the War of 1812—this victory and its context can and will take on a much more important symbolic meaning as time moves on.
Today's decision is no different. Today a song, frequently stood through while waiting for hot dogs and beer to arrive at your seats, can bring tears of pride to your eyes.
"O'er the land of the free, and the home of the brave."
let's face facts, if not for the title and the endless bigotry of those who oppose and no reference to Gay and you surfing and find this video what would your thoughts be in reference to those singing that song???

it will be interesting to see it those who hold the southern tradition in such high esteem upon knowing these guys are Gay will they now protest and assume the same posture about a song and it's representation of the war that represented a united front in this country against a common enemy or will it just be a "that was then this is now" moment???

Wow - The White House Lit Up In Rainbow Colors

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2015/06/27/1397061/-Wow-The-White-House-Lit-Up-In-Rainbow-Colors?detail=email

From The Hill:
The White House on Friday night is splashed with rainbow-colored lights to celebrate a Supreme Court ruling that legalized same-sex marriage around the country.
The light display capped a day of jubilation over the decision at the executive mansion.
President Obama hailed the ruling Friday morning, saying in the Rose Garden justice has arrived “like a thunderbolt” for gay and lesbian couples.
“Today, we can say in no uncertain terms that we have made our union a little more perfect," Obama said.White House aides gathered on the North Lawn on Friday evening to view the lights, and over 100 onlookers watched from Pennsylvania Avenue.
i was just wondering with this landmark historical advancing of America will republicans no longer seek the WH because they feel Pres. has sullied and permanently damaged it by showing his pride in American exceptionalism in batting down hate and bigotry and excepting Americans as fellow Americans, i mean we can hope they will can't we /s.  so far no reporting's of republican hair on fire or the fabric of traditional marriage unraveling any more than before ummm guess it was just another in a long list of lies by republican bigots.

'Gone With the Wind': The real Southern heritage

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2015/06/28/1396273/--Gone-With-the-Wind-The-real-Southern-heritage?detail=email

Two children wearing Ku Klux Klan robes and hoods stand on either side of Dr. Samuel Green, a Ku Klux Klan Grand Dragon, at Stone Mountain, Georgia on July 24, 1948.

Southerners have got to realize that Margaret Mitchell was a writer of fiction. She did not chronicle the romance of the Lost Cause of the Confederacy. She made it up. Of course, she was helped by historians like Edward A. Pollard, author of the 1866 whitewash of the war, The Lost Cause (The Standard Southern History of the War of the Confederates). She was also helped by the articles of Jubal Early, and the autobiography of Jefferson Davis, all of whom claimed that, in spite of all written evidence to the contrary, the Civil War was not fought over slavery. But it was always a fairy tale.
Southerners stole people. They robbed people of their freedom. And they did not just rob them of their liberty and their labor, they robbed them of their progeny. They robbed their descendants of a future. This is the heritage of the South. This is the infamous Lost Cause that many today still consider so noble that they have enshrined it into a veritable altar at which we are expected to pay homage. Or at the very least respect.
I don't respect treason.
I was born and raised in Chicago, perhaps the most segregated city in the United States, populated by racist blue-color workers who succeeded in keeping the migrants from the South, who came with hearts full of hope, locked up in crowded tenements. Who refused them mortgages and robbed them of their right to buy a home that could provide a foundation for the American dream that they wanted for their children. I writhe in shame when I think of what my hometown did and how its residents rioted when Martin Luther King Jr. came to visit. Bull Connor had nothing on Chicago bigots.
The difference between myself and the Southerners who insist that their flag represents their heritage, is that I don't deny what that heritage is. I recognize the evil that was done in my name, not just to blacks, but to the people who lived here long before the Europeans even knew that the Americas existed. I am ashamed of what was done and lack any desire to dress it up, to build statues to it, and demand that its victims honor and respect it.
The South needs to realize that it is not, nor has it ever been, a separate nation. It failed to achieve that. Its heritage is the same one shared by every Yankee from Maine to Washington—save the treason, of course. And the slavery. Confederate soldiers were not the only ones who died — their treason resulted in the deaths of at least 750,000, and perhaps as many as 850,000, Americans. The Union dead deserve respect. They died to make men free. Not to keep them enslaved.
The peace terms offered to Robert E. Lee by Ulysses S. Grant at Appomattox were incredibly generous. Officers were allowed to retain their side arms and baggage, all troops were permitted to take their own horses home with them after giving a parole that they would no longer fight the United States. So noble were both generals at Appomattox that the surrender of the Army of Northern Virginia was called "the Gentlemen's Agreement."
And Grant, on hearing a rumor that the was a movement to arrest Lee for treason, said that he would resign his command of the Army before he would execute such an order. Lee refused to countenance any talk of a continuing guerilla war.
This is how the South repaid that generosity and lack of malice: They agreed to the election of Rutherford B. Hayes in exchange for the removal of Union troops after a little more than a decade's enforcement of Reconstruction, and the promise to provide equal rights of citizenship to all residents of the South, regardless of color.
They lied.
Immediately after the removal of U.S. Army troops, steps were taken to disenfranchise blacks, while their numbers were used to inflate the representation of the Southern states in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Slavery was re-introduced in the Southern states through the loophole in the Thirteenth Amendment, eventually allowing blacks to be sentenced to prison for theft of as little as $10. While in prison, their labor was sold by the state to whoever was willing to pay, including many Northern entrepreneurs. There was no responsibility assigned to the purchasers of such labor. They never worried about the health of their slaves because they were so easy to replace.
Within 20 years, of the almost 1 million men who died in that war, only monuments remained. There were no real changes to the Southern economy, which was always based on slavery, or the Southern attitudes, which were always based on white supremacy. The rest of the nation, focused on the gilded age of the robber barons, had little energy to spare for the men and women they fought to free and who were now just as tightly enslaved under Jim Crow as they had been before the war.
This is the heritage the Southerners want us to respect and to honor. This heritage of deceit, treachery, and hate.
i posted so much of this article because i read it i didn't want anything lost by having to go to the article find where i stopped quoting and continue, this way the pertinent stuff is right here.

how do you take a past like this and hold it as a great heritage while using God as the basis of this heritage while defiling what God and the Bible and what Jesus taught are nowhere to be found, easy you deny the written history you erect statues and reinvent the characters that played the biggest roles in this atrocity of mans inhumanity to man.

they go about life fingers in ears hands over eyes and mouth wide open.  this is why when they talk it almost always is verbatim the same rhetoric is a script that all those who oppose must follow, it works but now people are actually hearing the words and seeing between their fingers and fingers loosening within their ears and recognizing that this is not something you write home to mama about.

passing on a heritage of hate, racism and bigotry to their kids is ruining their children's lives especially when such a reprehensibly controversial subject is fading and a new day is starting those4 kids will be ostracized and potentially become those we read about today as the mass murderers or home grown terrorist not a loving family value no matter how much the republicans try to say it is.

Texas attorney general tells county clerks they can refuse marriage licenses to gay couples

REUTERS/Lucy Nicholson       TPX IMAGES OF THE DAY      - RTX1I0HE

Dead-enders, Texas edition:
County clerks can refuse to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples based on religious objections to gay marriage, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said Sunday.
Paxton noted that clerks who refuse to issue licenses can expect to be sued, but added that “numerous lawyers stand ready to assist clerks defending their religious beliefs,” in many cases without charge.
Paxton said Friday’s “flawed” opinion from the U.S. Supreme Court, which overturned bans against same-sex marriage in Texas and other states, placed religious people in conflict between following their faith and the U.S. Constitution.
For what it's worth, Paxton's campaign site from last year's election claimed: "Senator Paxton has consistently been recognized as a conservative, stalwart leader with a deep passion and respect for our U.S. Constitution." Except for that whole Article III part, it appears.
for the past few years republicans have been duping their base and trying to the nation they wrap themselves in a constitution in their own heads and toss around words like lawless, unconstitutional but when you stop listening for a second and actually hear what they say it ain't that kind of party this election cycle they repeatedly advise no tell their faithful to be lawless and disobey law that has been solidified by the scotus.

note also and i'd love to be a fly on the wall when the suits start overwhelming the Texas courts exactly how many of them will not be in the column of not being charged for state defense of a unlawful federal act, it even sounds more criminal when you say it out loud.

they once ranted about secession well can we kick them out and levy every tarrif, tax and charges that we do to other foreign countries???

Vox: Obama is Officially One of the Most Consequential Presidents in American History

From Vox.com:
After Thursday's Supreme Court ruling, there's no longer any doubt: Barack Obama is one of the most consequential presidents in American history — and he will be a particularly towering figure in the history of American progres
When you consider the (Affordable Care Act) law in the context of 100 years of progressive activism, and in the grand scheme of American history, it starts to look less like a moderate reform and more like an epochal achievement, on the order of FDR's passage of Social Security, or LBJ's Great Society programs.
It is, to quote Harvard political scientist Theda Skocpol, "a century-defining accomplishment in the last industrial democracy to resist using national government to ensure access to health coverage for most citizens."  FDR failed, Truman failed, Nixon failed, Carter failed, Clinton failed — and Obama succeeded. He filled in the one big remaining gap in the American welfare state when all his forerunners couldn't.
Vox writer Dylan Matthews goes on to list many of President Obama's other significant achievements:
stimulus bill
Dodd-Frank Act
executive action to curb greenhouse gas emissions
executive action to protect 6 million undocumented immigrants from deportation.
Ended ban on gays and lesbians serving in the military.
Made it easier for women and minorities to fight wage discrimination
Cut out private sector involvement in student loans
hiked top income tax rate
reopened relations with Cuba
Iran Nuclear deal (tentative)
reprofessionalized the Department of Justice
refashioned National Labor Relations Board
refashioned the Wage & Hour Division of Labor Department
Marriage Equality for all
He closes with a quote from renowned UC Berkeley Political Science professor Paul Pierson:
"When you add the ACA to the reforms in the stimulus package, Dodd-Frank, and his various climate initiatives," Pierson says, "I don't think there is any doubt: On domestic issues Obama is the most consequential and successful Democratic president since LBJ. It isn't close."...
everyone has the right to "THEIR OWN OPINION" just not their own facts, IMO Pres. is the greatest one yet i don't think anyone before him can equal his record.  keep in mind republicans denied and obstructed 100% something never before done but still Pres. unparalleled in my book.  one fact of history the right wing won't be able to rewrite.

Speaking of the SCOTUS, 3 Strikes Law Struck Down. Private Prisons Haz a Sad

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2015/06/28/1397483/-Speaking-of-the-SCOTUS-3-Strikes-Law-Struck-Down-Private-Prisons-Haz-a-Sad?detail=email
This got overlooked amongst all the rainbows and flags, but on Friday, the Supremes ruled on the draconian Three Strikes Law.
From ABC...
The Supreme Court on Friday struck down part of a federal law intended keep people convicted of repeated violent crimes in prison longer.
The justices ruled that a catchall phrase in the Armed Career Criminal Act defining what crimes make a defendant eligible for a longer prison term is too vague.
And even Scalia was right on this one.
Six justices agreed that the phrase is unconstitutional. Writing for the court, Justice Antonin Scalia said using "so shapeless a provision to condemn someone to prison for 15 years to life" violates the Constitution's guarantee of due process.
The Prison Industrial Complex must be weeping.
From Occupy Democrats...
Now, prosecutors across the country will have to figure out who qualifies to have their sentences reduced, a move that is probably making private prison CEOs weep in despair.
The private prison industry has been a long-time supporter of harsh mandatory minimum sentences because that means higher profits for them. The two biggest private prison corporations–GEO and Corrections Corporation of America— make about $3 billion annually off of incarcerated Americans; in turn they spend millions of dollars on lobbying efforts.
The lawmakers in many states are contractually required to fill up the beds in private prisons; so it’s not too hard to figure out why the ACCA is such a popular sentence enhancer. Private prisons have even been known to sue state governments if they aren’t filed to capacity- making taxpayers foot the bill for low crime rates.
It’s an absolute travesty and a key piece in the conservative war against minorities and the poor, perpetuating the cycle of poverty and destroying communities around the country. Today’s ruling means Congress will have to clarify the law and you can bet that private prison lobbyists are about to throw even more money at lawmakers, but hopefully it sounds a death knell for mass incarceration in our nation.
i am happy to see the scotus making decisions that will benefit the people and the country, it does make you take a second look if the right wing has the majority of the scotus and the right wing let's say is responsible for 90% of the country's angst but blaming it on Pres. and even us Black people.

that said for the court to have just one on their side choose democracy and supports that written in stone mantra over their chambers "equal justice under the law" than there is still a light at the end of the tunnel it's called "DAYLIGHT" will our future be so bright we all have to wear shades?????

well we can answer that on Nov. 4th 2016.  we can't get to giddy though right wing has a record of getting their way but IMO that's because we let them by not showing up and being counted.  courts are starting to take a second look at gerrymandering practices it's a first step but all journeys start with one so we are in good company.

God Bless America to be!!!

David Vitter makes Chick-Fil-A Twitter jokes on gay marriage, gets epic trolling in return...

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2015/06/28/1397422/-David-Vitter-makes-Chick-Fil-A-Twitter-jokes-on-gay-marriage-gets-epic-trolling-in-return?detail=email

I'm not surprised that Sen. David Vitter would have something to say about gay marriage becoming the law of the land.  This is a guy who, after all, once called banning gay marriage the most important issue facing the nation once.  And not even being outed as a massive, hooker loving, diaper-sporting hypocrite can stop him from voicing his disapproval to the sight of happy couples being joined together in wedded bliss.  Or at least, using Twitter to be an asshole:
Twitter does not forget.
That’s what Senator David Vitter (R-Louisiana) learned the hard way when he lashed out at the Supreme Court’s marriage equality ruling Friday with this tweet:
Chick-fil-A kind of day
Complete with a big photo of him sitting in a car chowing down on Chick-fil-A.  Ha ha, sure showed them gays what's what.
It didn't take long for Twitter to strike back, as evidenced by this tweetfrom journalist Sam Knight:
You always know exactly where to go when you want to uphold the sanctity of marriage, Senator
Complete with this headline and accompanying article:
New Orleans Madam Says Sen. David Vitter Used Her Brothel
Boom, baby.  And he wasn't alone.  Courtesy of Salon here's some of the other replys:
How do you pick between a "Chick-fil-A kind of day" and a "cheat-on-your-wife-with-prostitute" kind of day?
You get off on wearing adult diapers and being an adult baby. Who are you to judge my lifestyle and marriage?
@DavidVitter marriage is between a man, a woman and his prostitutes. Right Senator?
Is that where you meet your hookers? Like is "Chik-Fil-A" code for "hooker"?
While proponents of marriage equality celebrated love, Vitter ate a shitty chicken sandwich in his car. #Winning
And my favorite:
I thought you preferred Wendys.
witless facetious bigoted comments from those who oppose are not getting the the effect they were aiming for.  aside from the standard not thinking before opening that pie hole on the front of their heads they really need to keep up they are a dying breed only the few they came with are laughing but than again Trump is their number 2 wannabe,

you know when there is a controversial subject that you oppose in a minority you can think of little put downs and belittlement's that sound so funny you can't wait to tell the others but that is where they go wrong instead of keeping it in the family the social network it or it's leaked and as they say the cat is out of the bag.

let me leave them with a message have you tried downloading "using your fly trap for dummies" user manual?????  also as a reminder

Six black churches have been destroyed by fires in Southern states this past week

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2015/06/29/1397665/-Six-black-churches-have-been-destroyed-by-fires-in-Southern-states-this-past-week

In the week after nine African Americans were shot and killed by a white supremacist in Charleston, South Carolina, six predominantly black churches have now been burnt to the ground. Arson was determined to be the cause of at least three of these fires. David A. Love at Atlanta Blackstar writes:
As the nation grapples with the massacre at Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, S.C., one of the oldest Black churches in the South, other Black churches have become recent targets of arson. From slavery and the days of Jim Crow through the civil rights movement and beyond, white supremacists have targeted the Black church because of its importance as a pillar of the Black community, the center for leadership and institution building, education, social and political development and organizing to fight oppression. Strike at the Black church, and you strike at the heart of Black American life.
with all the class and grace the families of Charleston exhibited toward the racist murderer of of their family members and the Kumbaya moment created around the country the hate and real disrespect for religious freedom not a talking point to an end is ramping up it's attacks.  they are denying God by burning these churches the God we know cannot be who they bow to that is in direct contradiction to what the Bible and Jesus taught and they claim they believe.

paraphrase "the greatest thing the devil ever did was to convince people he didn't exist"  taking a page from their book "i'm not saying they are devils, i have no proof but that shoe looks to fit that foot".

no longer just hate hate but home grown terrorism maybe the borders we need to secure are between the states, just sayin we need to address the more immediate threat you can recognize them they'll be the ones with AK's and AR-15's and bandoleers hung all over their upper torso and hand gus holding up their pants.

19 Hysterical Passages From Supreme Court Same-Sex Marriage Dissenters

http://thinkprogress.org/lgbt/2015/06/26/3674385/dissent-marriage-equality/

More ink was spilled dissenting today’s Supreme Court marriage equality decision than the majority’s opinion required. There were four different dissents, one by Chief Justice John Roberts (joined by Justices Scalia and Thomas), plus separate dissents from Justices Antonin Scalia, Clarence Thomas, and Samuel Alito.
The opinions are rife with criticism for the majority, including claims that they have upended the reputation of the Court, paranoia about the consequences for religious objectors, and a rejection of the idea that the benefits of marriage even constitute a liberty. Here’s a look at some of the most hysterical reactions from the dissenting justices.
what i'm walking away with is these 4 justices are using their own personal right wing ideas to form opinion that is suppose to just be an interpretation of law not what they view as intolerant and biased to one party against the peoples best interest.   the best reason for no more lifetime appointments for anyone involved in making decisions that impact American lives one way or the other,  those people should be subject to election like politicians not biased appointing.

the words above the scotus entrance  "EQUAL JUSTICE UNDER LAW " some decisions don't reflect that sentiment that is a negative to it's intent and our last resort for that equal justice that often ends with just us.  those 19 hysterical's are in the article really make the case for change in the high court.

Oliver Presents 5 Years Of Conservatives Wrongly Declaring 'The End Of Obamacare' (VIDEO)

B79sl9xykcg1teresb8m

With Obamacare emerging intact last week after the Supreme Court ruled in its favor, John Oliver found it appropriate to revisit the past five years of apocalyptic predictions from conservatives declaring "the end of Obamacare" was near.
From Rep. Steve King (R-IA) to Fox host Andrea Tantaros, the montage on Sunday covered the doomsday hype from conservatives, from the law's inception all the way to last week.
"It could happen next week in the United States Congress," King said in 2011. Three years later, CNBC was drawing up graphics of the word "Obamacare" splayed on a hospital bed getting jolted by a defibrillator.
And, of course, no reel of botched predictions would be complete without an appearance from Dick Morris.
this is a party without shame all this time and effort and money spent to dissuade you from supporting Affordable healthcare "FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY".  now that it's bulletproof they still are voicing intent to repeal who are they fighting for certainly not you or insurance comp.

they are ecstatic with all the new business and so that leaves the corporations not wanting to give up a dime more to insure healthy employees instead of profits of 100 billion per year they clear 99.99 billion oh the lost is to great they will be jumping out the windows if those 100 floor office buildings windows actually opened.  they want to be the ultimate leaders isn't that tyrannical rule will they change the title from Pres. to Caesar????

Ted Cruz Accuses 'Liberal Media' Of Trapping Him With 'Sex' Questions (VIDEO)

http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/ted-cruz-media-obsessed-with-sex

M9vshzxcbkvblocy8vrc

Presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) on Sunday defended his comments from last month accusing the media of being "obsessed with sex" after he was asked whether he had problem with gay people.
The remark in question came during a confrontation with a local reporter in Beaumont, Texas on May 19, after the journalist repeatedly asked the candidate about his stance on gay rights.
"Is there something about the left — and I am going to put the media in this category — that is obsessed with sex?" Cruz responded.
Speaking with Fox News media analyst Howard Kurtz on Sunday, Cruz said that the reporter had specifically asked if he had an "animosity" toward gay people, and explained why he didn't simply deny it.
"There is a reason for answering as I did," he told Kurtz.
"There's a trap in politics that when someone denies something — when Nixon says 'I am not a crook,' everyone says, 'he's a crook,'" Cruz continued.
Kurtz agreed.
"I wasn't going to give him that attack headline," Cruz said. "That question was designed to get me to deny it, so then he could run as the headline, 'hahaha,' he denies this."
does he think that was clever avoiding a legitimate question by trying to delegitamize it is old school and has more holes than Swiss cheese it's not a trick or a trap question it simply requires a yes or no which he obviously was afraid to respond to.  yes would label him homophobic and no would do as he said look questionable but isn't dodging more damaging that leaves the entire country to form their own opinion he gave it away and it will come back with a vengeance.

silence can be golden but it can also be a political career killer too.  don't be surprised if the press doesn't hit him with more of the same and his comrades on the right he is not beloved.

Supreme Court Strikes Down Obama's Limits On Air Pollution

http://talkingpointsmemo.com/news/supreme-court-strikes-down-epa-obama-emission-limits

Odeu6mnnqpt0tg7wytkb

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court has ruled against federal regulators' attempt to limit power plant emissions of mercury and other hazardous air pollutants.
The rules began to take effect in April, but the court said by a 5-4 vote Monday that the Environmental Protection Agency failed to take their cost into account when the agency first decided to regulate the toxic emissions from coal- and oil-fired plants.
The challenge was brought by industry groups and 21 Republican-led states.
Writing for the court, Justice Antonin Scalia said it is not appropriate to impose billions of dollars of economic costs in return for a few dollars in health or environmental benefits.
The case now goes back to lower courts for the EPA to decide how to account for costs.
just when you thought the scotus was on the right track they bend over to big business factory pollution you know the kind emitted from Koch factories a 5 - 4 vote leaves little question as to who voted in favor of breathing and who didn't.
with volatile chemicals like mercury being deregulated by the scotus really makes you wonder do any lives matter????

they want this for you and yours by vote the big business influence wins,  are they spreading their decisions one for them two for us and what makes deregulated factory pollution of our air less important than ACA or do they see allowing ObamCares to stand as the remedy to their decision to support pollution?????  we will need healthcare if pollution becomes common place.

we know republican job 1 is to appease the big business donors with the gift of deregulation it shows whose more important to those who would rule the country sad thing is they probably would deny gas mask for Americans who couldn't afford them.

another token house "N" self hater these guys might influence a couple of Blacks that listen to Fox for news as misguided as that might be but overall he and others are viewed as despicable and shills for the right wing.  have you really seen any of them excel within the party, a token candidate for appearances is not a qualifying factor they don't go anywhere become laughing stocks IMO more by their republican cohorts than American voters.

Herman Cain and his 999 tax plan, Ben Cason and his "obamaare worst thing since slavery" Bino's (Black in name only) are disgracing themselves for a party that hates them at days end and lights out door closes and the are still the "N" word with a snicker.  the few they have that show up on talk shows defending the policies that harm them and Black people are seen as pathetic wannabe's.

the view point of this guy ludicrous at least scripted at best

as i listened to this video i was cognizant of the not only hypocritical stance but the fact that this guy was just exposed for a life time of career fantasies of his mind and Fox's willingness to continue supporting misinformation especially from him and others Hannity, Kelly,  and  feeding a audience that their gullibility relies on them to deliver the truth well saying you do is not actually doing it it's more lying to those who trust you and deliberately misleading them.

G W Bush,"you can fool some of the people all of the time and those are the ones you want to concentrate on".  a philosophy born in Nixon WH in the 70's they never had a chance to think for themselves that is IMO why they have this drug like addiction to Fox and low information they don't know it is not as advertised but is as prescribed by Fox hierarchy.

Graham: Keeping Marriage Amendment In Party Platform Will Hurt GOP In 2016

http://crooksandliars.com/2015/06/graham-keeping-marriage-amendment-party

Sen. Lindsey Graham told Meet the Press host Chuck Todd that the Republican party needs to finally hang it up when it comes to keeping a proposal for a Constitutional amendment banning gay marriage in their party platform, but that he made it clear they're not going to let it go as a wedge issue any time soon.
As long as they can keep the religious right whipped into a frenzy over whether their "liberties" are being violated by not being free to discriminate against a group of people they don't like, they're going to keep going after those votes.
Here's how Graham responded when asked about Ted Cruz hyperventilating over the weekend, saying he wants to add same-sex marriage bans, Supreme Court elections to Constitution.
GRAHAM: I don't believe there is any chance for a Constitutional amendment defining marriage between one man and one woman to get two thirds votes in the House and the Senate and be ratified by three fourths of the states.
TODD: Get it out of the platform?
GRAHAM: In my view, you can put it in the platform, but it will in my view hurt us in 2016 because it's a process that's not going to bear fruit. What I want to do is protect the religious liberties of those who believe that opposing same-sex marriage is part of their faith, so no, I would not engage in the Constitutional amendment process as a party going into 2016. Accept the court's ruling. Fight for the religious liberty of every American.
please what religious liberties are being violated seems all the violating comes from them trying to keep from being allegedly violated.  they are the only ones actively pursuing an agenda of hate discrimination and exclusion, what is the other side doing turning the other cheek and going through the courts you know God like things.  Graham is going to have a rough time these are not gaffes he is telling the truth and that is equal to the first commandment of the republican right wing "thou must deceive".  his journey will be interesting especially the primary and the tea people obstructionist.

has he gone all dovish on them we have to remember he is still a republican and subject to their agenda he goes nowhere off the tracks, so no matter what he says remember what Grover Norquist said about Romney,  don't think for a minute that it changes for a different wannabe he too would be subject to republican donor whims.

Mike Huckabee Uses MLK To Attack Gay Marriage Ruling

http://crooksandliars.com/2015/06/mike-huckabee-uses-mlk-attack-gay-marriage

Former Governor Mike Huckabee, an outspoken critic of gay marriage, used the greatest symbol of freedom from discrimination in America's history, Martin Luther King, to justify his attacks on gay rights and marriage equality. It was simply an appalling and horrifying exhibition of hatred for Americans being masqueraded as a form of religious discrimination against the discriminatees that populate the conservative party
HUCKABEE: Are we going to trade one level of what's called discrimination for a new level of discrimination against people of faith.
STEPHANOPOULOS: So are you calling for civil disobedience?
HUCKABEE: I don't think a lot of pastors and Christian schools are going to have a choice. They either are going to follow God, their conscience and what they truly believe is what the scripture teaches them, or they will follow civil law. They will go the path of Dr. Martin Luther King, who in his brilliant essay the letters from a Birmingham jail reminded us, based on what St. Augustine said, that an unjust law is no law at all. And I do think that we're going to see a lot of pastors who will have to make this tough decision. You're going to see it on the part of Christian business owners. You'll see it on the part of Christian university presidents, Christian school administrators. If they refuse to -
What a gas guzzling neanderthal. The struggle for gay rights has been monumental and this phony man of God seeks to continue to discriminate against them by hiding behind The man who symbolized the struggle for freedom against tyrannical and religious persecution.
Many white Americans used God and religion to justify their attacks on African Americans during the civil rights movement and Huckabee is doing the same thing here.
he too is cementing the Black vote for the party just not his.  it's amazing how for decades they demonize then when they see what they think is a opportunity to exploit them in a 180 rant they embrace those they slammed and count them as their reputable source now Pres. Clinton that takes a lot of brass.  starting early was the best thing the could have done for the American people because they will pile it on themselves so high Nov. 4th 2016 all their base can vote for is elephant dung, down side if they do manage to elect them they won't even get elephant dung from them just a swift kick to the curb till next cycle.  pray for their children.

Tapper Stumps Trump: 'What's Traditional About Being Married Three Times?'

http://crooksandliars.com/2015/06/tapper-stumps-trump-whats-traditional
CNN host Jake Tapper recently confronted Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump about how his three marriages were morally justified if he only believed in so-called "traditional marriage" values.
After the U.S. Supreme Court effectively legalized same-sex marriage on Friday, Trump accused Chief Justice John Roberts of letting the country down.
Although the candidate has said his views are "evolving," his campaign position is that only "traditional marriage" between "a man and a woman" should be legal.
CNN's Tapper asked Trump if he could justify his view on marriage in an interview that aired on Sunday.
"What do you say to a lesbian who's married or a gay man who's married who says, 'Donald Trump, what's traditional about being married three times?'" Tapper wondered.
"Well, they have a very good point," Trump admitted. "But I've been a very hardworking person. And actually, I have a great marriage, I have a great wife now. My [first] two wives were very good."
"But what do you say to a lesbian or a gay man?" Tapper pressed.
"I really don't say anything," Trump shrugged. "I'm just, Jake, I'm for traditional marriage."
this guy will make some kind of president?????????  millions of men work harder than a billionaire with a golden rake and stay married to the same women guess that's one of the privilege's of the rich you get to pick and choose, drop and lose and do it all over again  let's see republican congress holds the record for do overs 60 ObamaCares repeals will Trump beat those numbers for it's over in the matrimony game of musical chairs/brides??

How Fox News Fought, Lost, And Rebooted Its Fight Against Marriage Equality

http://mediamatters.org/blog/2015/06/26/how-fox-news-fought-lost-and-rebooted-the-fight/204164

On November 18, 2003, Bill O'Reilly dedicated the "Talking Points Memo" portion of his Fox News show to criticizing the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, which had just made a historic ruling determining that the state could not deny marriage licenses to same-sex couples. In his monologue, O'Reilly claimed that while he personally "couldn't care less about gay marriage," if judges continued to "impose their views on everybody else ... the core values of this country will be changed dramatically":
O'REILLY: Personally I couldn't care less about gay marriage. If Tommy and Vinny or Joanie and Samantha want to get married, I don't see it as a threat to me or anybody else. But according to a poll by the Pew Research Center, only 32 percent of Americans favor gay marriage. And the will of the people must be taken into account here.
We simply can't allow this country to be run by ideological judges. Marriage is not a right, neither is driving a car. Both are privileges granted by the state.
If the good people of Massachusetts want a secular approach to marriage, let them vote on it. But judges have no right to find loopholes in the law and impose their views on everybody else. That's happening all over America. And if it continues, the core values of this country will be changed dramatically. Another secular victory today, this Massachusetts marriage deal.

when are the fence walkers going to realize that the right wing argument nullifies itself it does exactly what the doom and gloom crowd says other's rights will do to them force their views on others who don't walk through that same tunnel of bigotry.  everything they cry foul is of their own contrivances they are doing them that is where they get the idea to blame us that is their example themselves still nothing new under the republican tent DFSC, (different faces same crap).  whats becoming more clear is more people don't want evangelical tenets governing their lives hate is late and they are long gone when it arrives.

who the hell are O'REILLY and the foxettes to decide what this country allows, when you speak for those who only hear your voice are you not preaching to the choir??  tantamount to leading a thirsty horse to water no trick he will drink.

Megyn Kelly Moment: Fox's "Rising Star" Invites Anti-LGBT Hate Group Leader To Discuss Same-Sex Marriage Ruling

http://mediamatters.org/blog/2015/06/26/megyn-kelly-moment-foxs-rising-star-invites-ant/204179

Megyn Kelly invited anti-LGBT hate group leader Tony Perkins to respond to the Supreme Court's ruling in favor of marriage equality. Kelly's insistence on inviting Perkins highlights the host's cozy relationship with the ardent anti-gay group.
On the June 26 edition of her Fox News show, Megyn Kelly invited Family Research Council (FRC) president Tony Perkins to discuss the Court's ruling. Perkins claimed that the "freedom to live your life according to your beliefs" is at stake, specifically for Christians who oppose marriage equality. Perkins later stoked fears that "there will be an effort to force people to conform" by threatening religious institutions like colleges with the loss of their tax-exempt status, unless they fully embrace equality.
PERKINS: Religion is so entwined with who we are as a nation. I mean, that's why we have this nation; it was founded upon that freedom to believe, the freedom to live your life according to your beliefs. That's at stake here. And for Christians, for Evangelicals, those who follow the Bible, this is not an issue that can be negotiated away.
did you catch the hypocrisy?

it was founded upon that freedom to believe, the freedom to live your life according to your beliefs.

are Gay's not attempting to do just that, you don't see them up in evangelical establishments railing against their Godless agenda but we do see evangelicals trying to influence their lives who they can love and share their lives with, where they can go or be served or respected as American citizens.  so my friends might i ask WHO'S ZOOMIN WHO????

Hannity Agrees With Cruz: "Today Is Some Of The Darkest 24 Hours In Our Nation's History" Hannity: "I Couldn't Say It More Eloquently"

http://mediamatters.org/video/2015/06/26/hannity-agrees-with-cruz-today-is-some-of-the-d/204177
HANNITY: Senator Ted Cruz is with us. How are you, Senator?
CRUZ: Sean, how are you doing? Today is some of the darkest 24 hours in our nation's history.
HANNITY: I couldn't say it more eloquently. I loved your comments yesterday.
CRUZ: The other check that the framers put to judicial tyranny was the power of impeachment. Under the Constitution, judges and justices serve during good behavior. By no measure is this good behavior. But here is the sad reality, a Senate that is willing to confirm Loretta Lynch, an attorney general who told the Senate she won't follow the law and won't follow the Constitution, there's no universe in which this United States Senate, with this leadership, would be willing to marshal 67 votes to impeach Justice Kennedy.
HANNITY: I think you can add [Chief Justice] John Roberts to the list, myself. But that's my own personal opinion. He's the one that promised to call balls and strikes isn't he?

they just referred to the entire LGB&T community and all of us that support them participants in the darkest 24 hours of American history, how bright were those times they support then and now???  good reachin' out you're really helping the party, our party and Blessing us with a win 2016.

"Follow The Money" And "Blackmail": Conservative Media Floats Conspiracy Theories To Explain Roberts Vote On Health Care Case

http://mediamatters.org/blog/2015/06/25/follow-the-money-amp-blackmail-conservative-med/204149

Limbaugh

Conservative media figures are floating conspiracy theories to explain Chief Justice John Roberts' decision in favor of the Obama administration, reaffirming the Affordable Care Act in the King vs. Burwell case.
Writing for the 6-3 Supreme Court majority, Roberts' opinion preserves the nationwide tax credits in the health care law that assist poor and middle-class people in the purchase of health insurance.
On his June 25 show, Rush Limbaugh promoted the theory that Roberts -- who in the past has more typically sided with the conservative justices -- had been influenced by outside businesses in order to come to his decision affirming the law.
Limbaugh highlighted a link on the Drudge Report to CNBC, which explained that health care stocks had increased after the decision was announced. He told his listeners to "follow the money," claiming the stock increases were evidence that some in the Republican Party are more responsive to "money people" and "donors" over voters.
While Limbaugh said "I'm not accusing anybody of anything," he also argued that "when you follow the money, a lot of questions that seem unanswerable become clear." He accused Chief Justice Roberts of rewriting and interpreting the Affordable Care Act "outside the bounds of law" in order to come to his desired conclusion.
Limbaugh said "there's a clear benefit to certain people" resulting from the Supreme Court decision. Rhetorically asking himself if "moneyed interests" could influence a Supreme Court justice, Limbaugh said, "I don't know" but added that it was "obvious the law was not used in rendering this decision."
with all the above said keep in mind he said "I'm not accusing anybody of anything," think he's lost track and no longer knows what any means??  typical same as "i have no proof, but...."    pay attention to all on the right adding their 2 cents they are back in lockstep they all are speaking verbatim put them all in cube screens and their mouths could compete in an Olympic sync.

just wondering he's been slamming the republicans of late is there a taste of sour grapes in his mouth since there apparently is no longer a need to kiss his ring and the ditto group dwindling and sponsors running away in droves he sees a way back to grace, but like Humpty Dumpty he fell from it and can't be put back together again.

Univision pulls Miss Universe deal after Donald Trump's insulting remarks about Mexican immigrants

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2015/06/25/1396477/-Univision-pulls-Miss-Universe-deal-after-Donald-Trump-s-insulting-remarks-about-Mexican-immigrants?detail=email

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump gestures and declares

Donald Trump is a simple egomaniac of a man. Yes, he's rich. Yes, he's devastatingly handsome. Yes, his voice is like that of stones smashing into your mind's eye, covered in jalapeño sauce. But he is not a particularly smart man. He is not a competent man. He has never needed to be.
He's running for president, if you hadn't heard, because he wants lots of attention. There's a hole in his soul and he hopes cameras and lights can fill it. The problem is that he's a terrible person and when he talks he says terrible things. Things like immigrants are drug dealers and rapists. As a result of that, Univision, an enormous supporter of Trump's Miss Universe Organization, has decided to end their relationship with him:
“Today, the entertainment division of Univision Communications Inc. announced that it is ending the Company’s business relationship with the Miss Universe Organization, which is part-owned by Donald J. Trump, based on his recent, insulting remarks about Mexican immigrants,” the company said.
“At Univision, we see first-hand the work ethic, love for family, strong religious values and the important role Mexican immigrants and Mexican-Americans have had and will continue to have in building the future of our country. We will not be airing the Miss USA pageant on July 12th or working on any other projects tied to the Trump Organization.”
Trump was born wealthy, his father's connections in real estate allowed him to have a leg up in the depressed real estate market of New York City in the late 1970s and early 1980s. When his businesses operate in the red and Donald can't pay his debts, they file for bankruptcy (four times)—in essence using the government and the amount of debt he has created as leverage to get his debts reduced and other financial entities deals to float his boat. Well, "The Don" hasn't completely lost Univision:
The statement did say that Univision News and its local news division “will continue to provide comprehensive coverage of all candidates, including Mr. Trump, to ensure our audience continues to have access to all points of view.”
how arrogant do you have to be to think you can run for top dog while barking and growling at everybody and everything including your own party members he's creating a 4th tier to the republican party of stupid unnamed at present time but stay tuned .  he should inspire Hollywood to remake an old movie "the last angry American" with a political clown twist.  he's the perfect example of “Born on third base and thinks he hit a triple”.  if he were to make it to the gen election it would be priceless watching the worm turn looking for a way to explain away his words. HBO special????

In One Image, Clemson University Captures White Tone-Deafness And Just How Deep White Supremacy Runs

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2015/06/25/1396611/-In-One-Image-Clemson-University-Captures-White-Tone-Deafness-And-Just-How-Deep-White-Supremacy-Runs?detail=email

Let's say for a minute that you're Clemson University. Let's also say that over the last year, your campus has been engaged in a debate on what to do with your most famous building, which remains named after Ben Tillman, a man who once said:
As to his “rights”—I will not discuss them now. We of the South have never recognized the right of the negro to govern white men, and we never will. We have never believed him to be equal to the white man, and we will not submit to his gratifying his lust on our wives and daughters without lynching him. I would to God the last one of them was in Africa and that none of them had ever been brought to our shores.
Let's also assume that after a group of students - mostly black, but some white - asked for the school to re-name the building, the chairman of the Board of Trustees said something similar to:
Every great institution is built by imperfect craftsmen. Stone by stone they add to the foundation so that over many, many generations, we get a variety of stones. And so it is with Clemson. Some of our historical stones are rough and even unpleasant to look at. But they are ours and denying them as part of our history does not make them any less so. For that reason, we will not change the name of our historical buildings. Part of knowledge is to know and understand history so you learn from it. Clemson is a strong, diverse university in which all of us can be proud. That is today and tomorrow's reality and that is where all our energy is focused.
Tone-deaf doesn't even begin to describe what Clemson's done here, and really, it's just a reflection of how deep white supremacy runs in these United States of America, and particularly in South Carolina. To frame a memorial to nine victims of racial terrorism in front of a building honoring a man who once said that he would "willingly lead a mob in lynching a Negro who had committed an assault on a white woman" would be particularly egregious in any circumstance. It's especially egregious in light of the fact that Dylann Roof, the killer in question, accused the black population he targeted of "raping our women."
IMO this is a thinly veiled dog whistle of sorts to those who continue to oppose that those murdered are no more than a victory of the racist ideology fostered by the person the building named after represented.  along with the rhetoric of denying a name change it's clear that they don't want to give up their head of the table status that inevitably is going to change this my friends is part of the kicking and screaming we will see as that time gets closer, census bureau predicts 2043, tick tock. will the politics of societal changing influence them to get in step or will they hold on to the past where they were kings???

Iowa venue that refused to host gay weddings now going out of business

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2015/06/24/1396123/-Iowa-venue-that-refused-to-host-gay-weddings-now-going-out-of-business?detail=email

Karma sure is a funny thing, isn't it?
The owners of an art gallery and bistro in suburban Des Moines will close the business, saying it wasn't financially viable following a dispute about using the venue for a same-sex wedding.
Dick and Betty Odgaard announced Monday they would close the Gortz Haus in Grimes because their decision to stop renting a gallery for weddings made the business unsustainable. They stopped using the gallery for weddings after a same-sex couple filed a complaint in 2013 following the Odgaards' refusal to allow their ceremony.
Things got really hard for them after the whole bigotry thing.
“They didn’t come in because the people who are against us are more vocal than the people who are in our court,” Richard said.
Betty said the situation drove her into a “really dark depression”—so bad, that she had to seek the help of professionals.
“I’m a melancholy artist and no stranger to depression, but this took me down to the darkest I’ve ever been before,” she said. [...]
“We didn’t get the Chick-fil-A response,” Richard half-heartedly joked.
But don't worry, Ted Cruz is coming to the rescue. He'll be visiting the Odgaards to lend his support to discriminating practices this Saturday.
"So, the Odgaards livelihood has been taken away by this liberal fascism, this extreme view that if you hold a biblical teaching of marriage that is the union of one man and one women that the modern Democratic Party will persecute you and try to drive you out of civilized society," Cruz said.
Pssst, Ted? The free market—not "liberal fascism"—spoke. Three cheers for progress.
the dark depression was a result of the dark ideology of bigotry, but i can understand going all your life thinking you are among the elite and those who defy your personal beliefs are not deserving of your attention or your business and denying them shows them and the world your contempt for them. then one day you wake up and those who were in your circle aren't as vocal maybe changes of mind or recognizing a sinking ship the rats abandon it,  then the contempt you had for others is suddenly trust upon you and the world you knew no longer knows you.

must be a harrowing experience to be ostracized at least they got to understand the obnoxiousness of such intolerance and exclusion, poetic justice 1, Dick and Betty Odgaard goose eggs

Sean Hannity: If Walmart stops selling Confederate flags, they should stop selling rap music too

Texas Gov. Rick Perry and Fox News host Sean Hannity pose next to a light machine gun mounted in a Texas Highway Patrol boat.

and today's whack a mole;
Sean Hannity doesn't understand why America's fine retail establishments would stop selling Confederate flags when they still sell The Rap Music.
"I have a question: can you still buy a Jay-Z CD at Walmart? Does the music department at Sears have any Ludacris albums? Can I download 50 Cent on Amazon? Can I do that? Can I get some Snoop Dogg albums on eBay?" he asked on his radio show after discussing stores that will no longer sell Confederate flags.
"Why do I say that?" Hannity continued. "Because a lot of the music by those artists are chock-full of the ‘N word,’ and the ‘B-word,’ and the ‘H-word,’ and racist, misogynist, sexist, anti-woman slurs none of those retail executives would be caught dead using."

once again their attempt at redirecting the obnoxious from them to Black anything fails it also shows his indifference to what that flag represents where as those offended by hip hop don't have the same rear view of that flag as they do say Snoop they are really running out of retreads they can't use them anymore and we know there's nothing new under their tent anything they can put bin the troughs will be fine as long as it demonizes Pres., Hillary, ObamaCares, or just Blacks in general you can do that when you work for a credence free entity.

Who'd a thunk it? Sweden teaches us about the perils of school privatization

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2015/06/24/1396069/-Who-d-a-thunk-it-Sweden-teaches-us-about-the-perils-of-school-privatization?detail=email

In 1992, the normally socialist democratic Sweden implemented a series of school reforms that would be the wet dream of most conservatives. Vouchers were issued to parents to send their children to any schools around the country, private or public. Companies were allowed to start for-profit schools. Private equity firms ran hundreds of schools.
The results? Exactly what any liberal would have predicted:
Test scores fell consistently starting in 1995. Source.
Social stratification and ethnic and immigrant segregation increased. Source.
The better teachers went to schools with students of higher socio-economic status. Source.
In 2013, one of the biggest private education firms declared bankruptcy, disrupting the education of 11,000 students. Some1,000 people lost their jobs. The company's total unpaid debt was around 1 billion crowns ($150 million). Source.
In 2001, a convicted pedophile set up several schools quite legally. Source.
In one study, Swedish researchers found:
We find that an increase in the private school share moderately improves short-term educational outcomes such as 9th-grade GPA and the fraction of students who choose an academic high school track. However, we do not find any impact on medium or long-term educational outcomes such as high school GPA, university attainment or years of schooling. We conclude that the first-order short-term effect is too small to yield lasting positive effects.
republicans and big business investors know the pros and cons even though studies show no long term advantage the time in between makes billions for those who invest privatization is meant to me a money machine for what ever application school, prisons and just an assembly line for those that make it profitable with no equal sharing.  wake up everybody right wing republican ventures are for them to make more money they put lipstick on it but it still is a gussied up detriment to you and a smile on the way to the bank for them. recognize

Pat Boone lectures Obama on understanding and sympathy ... of Dylann Roof's racial fear

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2015/06/26/1396660/-Pat-Boone-Lectures-Obama-on-being-more-sympathetic-and-understanding-of-Dylann-Roof-s-Racial-Fear?detail=email

We are beginning to see more and more states and officials begin to come to their senses on openly displaying the Traitor Flag on public property. You start thinking that people like Dylann Roof, who believes that black men are inherently dangerous and that something needs to be done about them, is more of an extreme and fringy position. That's when someone like Pat Boone walks in the front door and poops something like this out on your brand-new area rug.
“As the president who came to office, a black man promising to bring people together, a man ideally suited for that job since you were born both black and white, you had a God-given chance to actually proclaim and demonstrate that racial divides and prejudice had greatly diminished and that our society was truly becoming colorblind,” the former pop singer complained.
“At no time do I recall your mentioning the far greater instances of ‘black on black’ crimes, the high percentage of crimes of all types committed annually by blacks, or the senseless looting and violence that follows the inflamed ‘protests’ after one of the above-mentioned incidents,” Boone said. “Strange that you, our half-white president, have little to say about these things.”
I'm sure it would shock Mr. Boone nearly to death to learn that President Obama has not only spoken about so-called Black-on-Black crime, he's been doing something about it with his My Brother's Keeper Initiative, that the MBK Task Force has already issued a 1st Year Progress Report (PDF) and that one of the things he said during his talk with Marc Maron besides the unvarnished "N-Word" was that community leaders in cities such as Baltimore following the unrest had coordinated with the MBK Initiative to work out a set of solutions to the exact problem that Boone says the president "hasn't even mentioned."
i remember this guy and his white shoes back in the late 50's with a variety show on TV.  we hear about how Blacks expected the racial strife to end when Pres. was elected looks like Whites thought so too that said could the reason it didn't happen was because they never gave him a foot in the door, the last thing they wanted aside from him in the WH was for more Black people to rise up and get out of their money making poverty plan they need us their we are their cash cow second only to big business money.

http://thenewblackmagazine.com/view.aspx?index=169

short answer they don't have a clue what, when or how because of two reasons abandonment and ignoring the existence except when it was profitable to them which never translated to profitable for those neighborhoods.  their is only one explanation for this guy's massacre racist ignorance.  and for Boone not to acknowledge but instead harping on right wing myths of the Black dynamic makes him equally complicit in promoting that kind of ignorance.   speaking out in a radical rant emphafisizes your lack of inteeligence especially when you don't bother to fact check hey but you remember republicans one said "We Will Not 'Be Dictated By Fact-Checkers", and he wanted to be president twice.  shows their propensity to chose deception over truth.  ok a failed at short again+o)

Mayor of Charleston drops the mic on Huckabee and gun culture's fantasy of arming everybody.

The Huckster has called for arming parishioners to prevent more shootings.
The Mayor of Charleston is not remotely amused.
The mayor of Charleston, South Carolina questions the sanity of Mike Huckabee’s argument that better-armed parishioners could have stopped a deadly, racist terrorist attack that took place last week inside a church.
“That is so insane.  That is so nutty I can’t even talk,” Joseph Riley told radio host Alan Colmes on Wednesday. “It’s crazy. Absolutely crazy. We want everybody to carry a gun and then you have everybody carrying a gun and then somebody gets upset and pull it out because they got it handy and they got mad all of a sudden and rather than argue, or take a swing at somebody, they just kill them. It’s crazy, that is insane.”
“I mean I knew these people,” Riley said. “I’m looking that their pictures right now in front of me. They weren’t going to be carrying handguns. You want an 87-year old retired lady or you want a minister to be carrying a handgun or a 78-year old retired lady that used to work for the city of Charleston? … You want those elderly people carrying handguns? Is that the best we can do in America?”
He demolishes Huckabee in particular but also smashes the NRA gun myth that more guns somehow equals more safety, which is the snake oil Huck's a-hawkin'..
There are no actual technical talking points for responding to Huck and this mythological belief system hawked by him and the NRA: data doesn't help, they merely ignore it.
we all know that all White people are not the SOB's we see and hear and write about,  but those that are have gone too far they have emboldened those who chose to keep their mouths closed now they are speaking up for what is correct and stepping away from the hate mongers no longer wanting to be the footnote on one of those who was on the wrong side of history embarrassing their grandkids and family name everybody wants that positive legacy left behind  but there are some who value their notoriety as a a-hole more than a listing in a history book.

for the record voter base's leave legacies too one way or the other!!

Bill Donohue speaks: Marriage is 'not about love'

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2013/04/19/1202322/-Bill-Donohue-speaks-Marriage-is-not-about-love?detail=email
Bill Donahue on Current's Young Turks show
Presenting Catholic League president Bill Donohue and his deeply important thoughts on marriage:
“This idea of two men getting married is the most bizarre idea in human history,” Donohue told host John Fugelsang, adding that the purpose of marriage is a “duty” to procreate.
“The whole purpose of marriage is to have a family,” he said. “It’s not about making people happy. It’s not about love.”
Glad we cleared that up. Marriage not about love, and screw happiness. Check. Wow, what a fabulous worldview this guy has. I can only imagine the sorts of songs they sing at his church.
The host also pointed out that the Catholic leader is a hypocrite for demanding we follow a Leviticus passage that prohibits “lying with another man,” yet he doesn’t refrain from eating pork or from wearing shirts with mixed fibers.
“I think there’s a little bit of difference between what kind of shirt I buy and two guys having anal sex,” Donohue dismissed.
old article but their sentiment still the same just shows nothing changes in the hallowed halls of hate.  they not only disavow the union but delegitamize their feelings for one another that is stripping someone of their humanity which is what the White intolerant power structure has tried to do to every other race or choice a person makes about their own lives that doesn't fit their warped agenda, and they cry foul that their religious freedoms are being attacked, maybe we should attack them all out after all they have their war against everybody and thing else.  they harm lives they only have their racist bigot ideals challenged big difference wouldn't you say????

Pro-discrimination Supreme Court justices really, really dissent from marriage equality

Baby crying holding his ears

Each of the Supreme Court justices who dissented from marriage equality wrote his own dissent, with Justices Scalia and Thomas joining all of the dissents, because just dissenting once or twice wasn't good enough for those guys. While a vituperative Scalia dissent may be fun in some cases, this time we're talking about bitter opposition to people's right to marry, which is a lot more sad than funny. So—fair warning—this could be a mood-killer.
this is a main consideration for your 2016 vote read the dissents in the article and see the kind of people who voted against American freedom in favor of right wing republican tyranny with all it's bells and whistles then realize if we vote them back in they will have as many as maybe 3 new scotus appointees.  you need to decide is hate and discrimination the way you want your America because if it is it won't belong before the right wing hand comes back to take you in it's grip,  millions of you right wing voters already are.

all they make you believe they are doing to us is systematically happening to you too,  has the food supply gotten smaller in the ol fridge?  what with them trying to take your food stamps and dictate what you can buy with them.  hope you don't mind no ketchup on your fries that is if you can buy potatoes and cooking oil.  oh kiss those chips and cookies goodbye too. you will all be vegans from now on.

Revolution and the right to discriminate: Republicans respond to marriage equality

The Supreme Court has ruled in favor of marriage equality, and the four dissents—one from each of the justices who voted to continue discrimination—are a decent sign of what's to come from opponents of equality. Lots and lots of predictions that the world is coming to an end, everything is terrible, tears rage tears.
Unlike when Pope Francis is talking about climate change, Jeb! Bush is once again all about religion, saying that "Guided by my faith, I believe in traditional marriage." Though Bush did his best not to sound overtly hateful, with a nod at "lov[ing] our neighbor and respect[ing] others," he closed with the big campaign to come: "It is now crucial that as a country we protect religious freedom and the right of conscience and also not discriminate." The not-discriminating Bush wants there is, of course, not the not-discriminating of marriage equality, but of allowing business owners to refuse to serve LGBT people.
Bush was not the only Republican whose mind immediately went to the right to discriminate:
Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal said the decision “will pave the way for an all out assault against the religious freedom rights of Christians who disagree with this decision.”
“This ruling must not be used as pretext by Washington to erode our right to religious liberty,” he added.
Ben Carson, too, called for protections for those whose religion makes them want to discriminate.
And then there was Donald Trump, who has leaped up to second in national Republican primary polls. He took a break from his battle with Univision to tweet that "Once again the Bush appointed  Supreme Court Justice John Roberts has let us down. Jeb pushed him hard! Remember!" Roberts, of course, dissented from the equality decision.
their rally call in rebuttal to the decision "keep discriminating bigotry alive", Carson wants those who overtly say they will ignore the law protected from their criminal offense since it is now the law.  JEB, well he just left himself an escape hatch by wording his dissent at both ends of the candle wonder who taught him that??  Trump suggest that the scotus let them down meaning those who oppose and want discriminatory practices as part of their governing powers,

while totally ignoring the will of 60% of Americans.  all and all they are selfishly wanting to still deprive other Americans the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness their rights are just as important as the haters except theirs don't hurt or demoralize the haters love lives like the haters do theirs.

Justice Kennedy's beautiful closing paragraph on marriage will bring a tear to your eye

Wow. This is simply a beautiful ending to today's historic decision.
Amen America is becoming what it portrayed itself to be since the beginning, long time coming but change gonna come.  Shout out to Sarah Palin, "this is one way how that hopey, changey thing is working out for Americans, hows that bigoted, hate filled, racist, intolerance thing working out for you guys on the republican side???".

Huckabee Totally Loses It

"The Supreme Court has spoken with a very divided voice on something only the Supreme Being can do-redefine marriage. I will not acquiesce to an imperial court any more than our Founders acquiesced to an imperial British monarch. We must resist and reject judicial tyranny, not retreat.
"This ruling is not about marriage equality, it's about marriage redefinition. This irrational, unconstitutional rejection of the expressed will of the people in over 30 states will prove to be one of the court's most disastrous decisions, and they have had many. The only outcome worse than this flawed, failed decision would be for the President and Congress, two co-equal branches of government, to surrender in the face of this out-of-control act of unconstitutional, judicial tyranny."
"The Supreme Court can no more repeal the laws of nature and nature's God on marriage than it can the law of gravity. Under our Constitution, the court cannot write a law, even though some cowardly politicians will wave the white flag and accept it without realizing that they are failing their sworn duty to reject abuses from the court. If accepted by Congress and this President, this decision will be a serious blow to religious liberty, which is the heart of the First Amendment."
we know this guy is a huckster for the republican propaganda machine and a charlatan vying for the power and booty gained by being a republican pres.,  they are the lawless ones they accuse Pres. of being,  look back they rig polls they gerrymander with malice of forethought to those voters not voting for them.  they purge voter rolls and impose voter restrictions lie about time and place to vote, give misleading misinformation stall bills and refuse to floor them refuse to give healthcare in any form other then ER and have the audacity of arrogance to talk about the constitution the same one that doesn't say you can discriminate.

we have made progress but within minutes after those forward steps they are pledging to destroy them in the form of a threat/promise, outright saying they will disobey the scotus ruling because of their religious freedom will somebody tell me where same sex marriage impedes on them in any way other than ginning up their bigot juices?????  in order to say it hurts their religious freedom doesn't their actions and intolerance and making laws that impact same sex marriage doing to those people what they claim they are doing to them?????? THE H Y P O C R I S Y OF THEIR RELIGION!!
