Washington (AFP) - House Speaker John Boehner on Sunday accused the White House of "animosity" towards Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, whose planned speech before the US Congress has stirred up a political furor in both countries.
Boehner defended his decision to invite Netanyahu to give an address on Iran's nuclear program before Congress next month, flouting diplomatic convention which says that such an invitation should have come from US President Barack Obama.
Boehner said he felt it was important to do an end-run around White House "interference," amid a raging debate over whether to soften sanctions on Tehran.
Beohner felt he had to make an end run around the WH because he in his childlike mind has to do tit for tat this is nothing more than "i know you are but what am i". his response to his party responsible for impending shutdown he can only say "we did our job", that sounds so foreign he had to say it 4 or 5 times completly ignoring the question that Wallace asked one of the few times he did his job which to me says the right wing as a whole is not happy with Beohner's playground tactics.
