Remember when there were just a few liberals on the left saying "Umm.... I dont think we should do this." Remember how Republicans said Democrats hated America and loved terrorists? Remember how even fellow Democrats were saying how could we tolerate people living under dictators and suffering massacres? Remember how they shouted "Holocaust!" and "Rwanda!" Outnumbered, liberals said "You'll regret it!"
Then things didnt seem to go as planned. Because when plans meet reality, reality wins.
Then things began to change. And over time, after great cost, slowly everyone comes to realize that the Middle East is not a playground for America's intentions but a real place whose choices in how they govern themselves is just as valid as any white western nation. Slowly they realize that perhaps America does not know all, know best, and is omnipotent in ability. Perhaps those crazy reality based people knew what they were talking about after all.
But memories, schmemories. How can we repeat the past if we don't forget it?
And so here we are again.
The only question is how many trillions and how many people we will have to lose this time before folks come around.
Americans as a whole are a lot of adjectives and like racism refusal to admit leaves it adrift in our society. after ignoring warnings of Bin Laden intentions and thousands dead because of it we bought into the Cheyney/ Bush lie and created what is still going on 13 years later, kinda hard to remember before that time since all we've seen since is that time.
i case you hadn't noticed republicans are now trying to blame PRES. for middle east and ISIS saying he knew a year ago but did nothing we the people didn't want him doing anything over there while republicans pushed it going over there and adding their 1 cent to the efforts PRES. was trying to make IMO making it worse while blaming him. one thing they left out ISIS ISN'T HERE AL QUEDA WASN'T IN IRAQ until republicans had their way, now to try and pin that tale on Pres. is juvenile at best.
if republicans weren't so busy trying to manipulate foreign oil and geographic locations by occupying and building bases maybe we wouldn't be as disliked as they have made us, saber rattling only embolden those who you threaten if they can't beat us they terrorize us and all because the GOP thinks they are GOD. hard to convince others with a millennium of history to embrace their brand of democracy when they see and hear what republican democracy is doing to America they don't need more of the same and they don't need us before we destroy their way of life.
