Connie Trube
Connie Trube, a city council member in La Marque, Texas is ignoring calls to resign after she was taped making racist remarks about the local school board.
Another day in post-racial America:
Local 2 Investigates obtained a copy of an audio recording of a parking lot conversation between Trube and the husband of a political adversary. On the recording, Trube is heard expressing her thoughts regarding the troubled financial and academic state of La Marque Independent School District.
"It's not going to get any better until you get those blacks off the school board," Trube is heard stating on the recording. "She really turned black. She got on the school board with the rest of the blacks and they all just ganged up and that's why the school system has gone to hell."
When Local 2 spoke with Trube following Monday's council meeting, she said she stands by her remarks.
"What is on the tape is nothing more than me stating my honest opinion and I don't back down from that," said Trube. "I never denied what was on the tape."
did she just find the hiding place for republican racism that doesn't exist and were the WMD there too?  i do believe these people really think that way, donald sterling, trump and the rest of the gangs the only thing that has changed with those types is they no longer feel they need to hide under a sheet and a hood, and the audacity of their arrogance emboldens them to express themselves.
i think it started with joe wilson right wing resident deadbeat dad and racist when he shouted during Pres.'s state of the union "you lie", there was no backlash no defense by shamefully my party that started the envelope pushing and they have pushed it over the edge every since.
my only hope is that history tells the true story of the first Black Pres. who could be and should be if not the one of the great ones, by including the racial intent to prevent him from gaining that notoriety by republicans and the right wing.
