For the first time in Disney Channel history, one of their shows will feature a family with two mothers.
An episode of the children’s show Good Luck Charlie, set to air in 2014, will feature the show’s preschool-age protagonist, Charlie, being set up on a playdate with a friend with two moms.
Article PhotoThe ABC-operated network is taking care to consult the relevant experts to ensure the episode is respectful of the LGBT community: “This particular storyline was developed under the consultancy of child development experts and community advisors,” a Disney Channel spokesperson told TV Guide.
“Like all Disney Channel programming, it was developed to be relevant to kids and families around the world and to reflect themes of diversity and inclusiveness.”
whoa, Disney embracing our new society, you would think if they can so should the right wing.  by denial the lose that percent of everything they participate in just like the rest of their fellow Americans.
to be so misleadingly money crazed the right wing is losing big bucks discriminating against everybody not to mention votes.
e pluribus unum, for each one you get many more, bigotry gets you talked about and rejected. for a party that claims all the American tenets they sure don't believe it but they lie because they think you do.
The episode comes as part of a larger shift in the number of LGBT characters on television. According to the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, LGBT characters made up 4.4 percent of all regular scripted characters on the five broadcast networks for the 2012-13 TV season, up from 2.9 percent in 2011-12. The organization called the inclusion of an out lesbian couple “a historic move in the right direction for the network.”
don't know if this is genuine or a realization of all the revenue potential by accepting as opposed to following right wing ideology.
