Mitt Romney might repatriate his capital if elected president
WASHINGTON -- Mitt Romney might repatriate his vast overseas holdings if he is elected president, the GOP candidate said in an interview with Parade magazine.
The family-friendly periodical asked readers what questions the Romneys should be asked during the interview, which led to the question on Romney's offshore funds.
"There were a number of questions about your financial wealth," Parade noted. "New Jersey resident Harry H. asked if you would make this pledge: If elected, do you promise to bank in the United States?"
Romney first replied by claiming that the decision was out of his hands. "My investments have been managed for almost the last 10 years by a blind trust. A trustee decides where to put our money. If I'm president, my understanding is the same principle applies, that I may not direct any of my investments. I can't tell you what my investments might be because I won't make them," he said. "But I'm happy to have every investment in the United States."
are "we the people to take that bank change would only happen if he were elected if not, "screw you America"?  this blind trust BS has already been put to bed with the other lies.
Romney keeps most of his wealth in a blind trust designed to prevent him from knowing exactly where his money is and what it's doing. It's a long tradition for presidents and candidates, though anyone can set one up if he wants to.
But it turns out that not all blind trusts are equally blind. Some are cast into complete and utter darkness. Others are more nearsighted.
Over the last decade, Romney has paid an unusually high amount of foreign taxes, even for an investor as wealthy as he is, and he has been able to substantially reduce his U.S. tax bill as a result.
so again we are to understand he has obligations to foreign countries to pay "THEIR TAXES" but he hides the money to avoid paying taxes here? hmmmmmmmmm?
doesn't sound very American to deny your country for foreign interest. are they charging him taxes even though he helped their unemployment numbers rise, while his business dealings with them, cause our's to plummet, again not very American or Presidential.
wonder if his US banker buddies knew he was kissing them off for a sweeter foreign deal?  maybe that is American, right wing American that is. just another righty milking it for all it's worth.
Romney may have earned as much as $25 million in foreign investment income while serving as governor of Massachusetts and campaigning for president.
conditional candidates from the right wing, they are more secretive than the Goodfella's. and just as criminally inclined.
