The Collapse of the Republicans

As the Republican primary process continues another month with Donald Trump in the lead, followed by Ben Carson, and then a motley crew of politicians of limited achievement and startling incoherence, it is becoming more and more obvious that the Republicans have collapsed as a real party.
It no longer deals with the real world, it has no organizing philosophy other than hatred of Obama, and it cannot attract the votes of moderate thoughtful voters.  There was a time when I could conceivably vote Republican, or at least discuss the issues in a rational way, with Republicans offering their own way to solve the problem, but aknowledging at least their was a problem to solve.
So where have the Republicans jumped off the deep end?  Let me count the ways.
1.  Voter suppression.  The fabricated notion that fraudulent voting is rampant and justifes a variety of hurdles to make it hard to vote, that just happen to hit Democratic voters hard, shows how little regard they have for the American people or democracy.  George Washington didnt have photo ID, and none of us need it either.  Hopefully a liberal SCOTUS in a few years will throw out all these voter ID laws.  Also, the Republicans have declined to reauthorize the Voting Rights Act in compliance with the recent SCOTUS decision.
2.  Immigration.  Republicans confuse two different issues.  One is what to do to keep new undocumented immigrants from coming to the US, the other is what to do about the 11 million who are already here.  A fence does nothing to keep them out.  The reality is that falling birthrates and a growing Mexican economy means that the number of unskilled workers that will enter the US in the next decade has fallen sharply.  At this point there is little or no new net immigration.  Securing the border is just a pointless ruse to avoid dealing with the 11 million here who should be given legal status as an amnesty, just like Reagan did in 1986.
3.  Climate Change.  It would be fine if Republicans wanted to argue about the best and most effective way to tackle this issue, but instead they completely deny it even exists.  This anti-science bias is pervasive in the Republican party and infects not just cranks but is expressed by its most senior leaders and opinion makers.
just a couple to wet your whistle many more in article.  really how can anyone who is capable of reason choose to put these guys in charge of guarding a rock????  i really think had they not spent last 7 years on a mission to destroy the first Black Pres. and turning their backs on constituents they wouldn't be here but given their manifesto and rhetoric maybe so but not viewed as reprehensibly as they are now 32% favorable Dems 48%  not what you hear on Fox or MSNBC is it you hear stuff like they can take the WH 2016 well 32% is about what their base is that leaves two thirds find them odius and that my friends is the majority of the electorate. who's zoomin who????????????????????
