Donald Trump has often mentioned his love for Ronald Reagan, a popular name-drop among Republicans, but a Wall Street Journal report published on Wednesday show that Trump may have been a little late to donate to the Republican idol.
FEC records reviewed by the Wall Street Journal show that after Reagan announced his bid for president in 1979, Trump donated to the campaign of his Democratic opponent, Jimmy Carter.
When approached about this, Trump told the Journal, "Keep checking." He said he believed he had donated to Reagan.
Trump did donate to Reagan's re-election campaign in 1984, according to the Wall Street Journal.
When asked about his relationship with Reagan, Trump told the Journal that he wasn't close with the late president, but said that Reagan liked him.
"He felt very good about me," Trump said. "Frankly, he liked my attitude."
According to the Journal, Trump did meet Reagan. The real estate mogul peppered the president with invitations to events, and Trump himself attended a couple events at the White House. But the Wall Street Journal noted that the Reagan administration "mostly kept the real-estate mogul at arm’s length."
i think we all know Trump is not as beloved as he thinks he is if at all. we know all the clinical terms for his condition but for lay people "BIG FAT LIAR" is the best. oh btw he probably did tell the truth about his hair remember the lady came up looked and said it was real wow what a setup, but maybe there is another explanation, plugs, implants????
