Who thinks this is funny to wear?
No idea why anyone would think this was funny, but two Alabama men swear it was just a joke!
It was a normal day at practice for the Boaz youth cheerleaders until the team's assistant vice president Brian McCracken and his friend Brian McDowell showed up wearing shirts that said “The original boys in the hood” with a picture of a burning cross and a KKK member another that said “White Pride”.
"It's awful,” former volunteer cheerleading coach Kayleigh Tipton said. “I mean, I don't stand for it, I don't want my kids around it. No one I know wants their kids around anything like that."
Needless to say, Tipton complained. North Alabama Youth Football and Cheerleading League Commissioner Kenny Jones took action, making it clear any such apparel would be barred from all NAYF events. Unfortunately, Kayleigh Tipton was in for another surprise—she was asked not to return as a volunteer:
Jones said the decision has nothing to do with Tipton's complaint.
"There was some parent concerns of some drama that was going on so we had to go in, evaluate, do our diligence and see what actions were necessary,”
Jones said.
Face. Palm. The men wearing the shirts resigned, but Kayleigh and her family think the league should've taken a harder stance and stood up to parents complaining about Kayleigh.
the most despicable part of this story is not the idiot racist that "thought" it was cute to wear racist images of the past to a youth event, did they think those kids would find their supporting racism cute and a joke.
it's clear what the general over 21 consensus is asking the one person concerned about spreading hate at youth events is wrong not t come back do they speak for everyone who silently stood by and watched hate win out over civility, and what brought these persons to the event in the first place?????????
"There was some parent concerns of some drama that was going on so we had to go in, evaluate, do our diligence and see what actions were necessary,”
what drama not stated but my money was on the drama of haters not wanting to be shutdown from spreading their racism no matter who was present. pray for those children!!
