If there was any question left in anyone's mind that Florida's Republican state House exists just primarily to give the finger to the state's working poor, this should put that to rest. They have voted, again, to reject the state Senate's proposal to expand Medicaid. Bad enough, but at the same time, they voted to give themselves a great deal on their own health insurance.
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Thousands of state workers including Gov. Rick Scott would continue to pay low health insurance premiums under a bill passed by the Florida House.
The Florida House on Friday voted for an overhaul of the state health insurance program that would lock in premiums that even House staff called "extremely low." But it's unlikely the Senate will pass the bill. The House recently rejected a Senate plan to expand health insurance coverage to low-income Floridians.
How low? Really low, as in "$8.34 a month for individual coverage and $30 a month for family coverage." That's for the high-level state employees, like Scott, Attorney General Pam Bondi, legislative staff and various management level state employees. The legislators along with the rank-and-file state workers pay higher, but still very reasonable, premiums. They shell out $50 a month for individual coverage or $180 a month for family coverage. How nice for them.
my friends are you getting the point republicans do not care about you their base any more than they care about middle eastern Islamic's. but they still cheer and give standing ovations to rhetoric it would appear they think only applies to "others" not them well enough time has elapsed for them to get a clue that this is happening in their lives too so begs to question why are they still supporting the republican agenda that ruins their lives too????? Fla is known for a retiring state yet this gov. ignores and attempts to wipe ant reference to climate change out of the language while Fla is in danger of dropping below sea level and literally drowning the inhabitants.
retired people are usually elderly so there would be a certainty needed for affordable healthcare this gov. denies them that because it's an Obama program refusing money for Medicaid expansion is equally as despicable in effect he is leaving the low income and poor at the mercy of ER's. needless to say it caused a backfire now he arrogantly begs for federal money but it has to be Obama free, he is not in a position to make demands beggars can't be choosy. had he not been using is office to slap Pres. he would not be in this position of looking the republican fool 3rd tier party of stupidest FYI Pres. is fine he only succeeded in slapping his constituents like all republican gov. who chose to oppose.
they try to destroy ACA by denying it while doing so the people are not privy to the plan so yeah their premiums go up because the denial relegates them to what ObamaCares prevents insurance company gouging, which really make no sense since insurance companies are happy as a lone rooster in the hen house which makes their opposition just one of resent and revenge but ahain Pres. is fine he's rich he will never have to worry about anything like healthcare so my friends are your cheeks stinging yet?????
