Japan just broke its own high speed rail record—US isn't even in the conversation

Japanese maglev train breaks speed record 371mph

The Japanese maglev trains are fast. They run over 300 mph pretty easily. Japan also holds the existing speed record for a train at 361 mph. Last week they broke that record.
The train reportedly carried 29 engineers during its run. Unfortunately, the record is only expected to last until next Tuesday when JR Central hopes to spur the magnetically-propelled commuter train past 372 mph (600 kph).
Also unfortunate is the fact that normal passengers will likely never be able to experience these exhilarating speeds -- unless something goes horribly wrong. The rail company plans to limit the trains to a pokey 313 mph for regular service when they come online in 2027. But even at these speeds, commuters could make it from Tokyo to Nagoya in about 40 minutes (less than half the time today's fastest bullet trains require). The company even has aspirations to export this technology to America -- specifically as a high-speed rail line running between New York City and Washington DC.
you might remember this was one of the projects included in Pres.'s American Jobs Act that congress refuses to bring to the floor because they are too busy pushing the Keystone theory of ultimately 35 permanent jobs while Pres.'s millions.  Beoner use to arrogantly ask "Mr President where are the jobs", during the 60 month stint of job creation, but never told us where their jobs promised in 2010 were guess they got elected and that was all they wanted those who voted go back in their holes until next election cycle.

infrastructure spending still being touted by Pres. is still obstructed by republicans only thing different Beohner no longer ask Pres. where the jobs are. given that that they hold the strings to the purse as they brag about while blaming Pres. for spending they are the ones that are slowing recovery. recognize  now if i might borrow from Mr. Cruz, "imagine a gov't and country not in the grips of republican destruction and obstruction"

the republicans talk about being number one but do nothing to assure it, they only want to be number one in oil and destroying the planet while Pres. is trying to get a global collective to be responsible, we are not number one in fact we are several steps behind those they used to demean as living in the past, it's remarkable the only other thing they are number one at is blaming others for what they do and create within their social purview too bad it impacts us all coincidence or intention???
