Jon Stewart: Oklahoma politicians pass sharia law to get around gay marriage

Jon Stewart used tactful ridicule to illustrate the lengths right-wing politicians go through to discriminate against gay marriage. To be clear, there is nothing conservative about their actions. In fact, they are radical and reactionary.
Jon Stewart starts by pointing out that marriage equality is spreading across America. The nation has not imploded because the country has granted more civil rights. As customary in this nation, after two steps forward, a step back is always forthcoming.
"But as you know," Jon Stewart said, "not all states will accept decency without a fight." He went on to point out states that are going through hoops to deny some American citizens their civil rights. They will do whatever it takes to prevent gay marriage.
Oklahoma one-upped Arkansas, though. They proposed a bill to outlaw marriage licenses altogether. Instead it would opt for a clergy-issued certificate. "Oklahoma wants to replace a civil institution with a religious one," Jon Stewart said. "Which is ... sharia law."
Texas eats the cake in the buffoonery in their anti-gay marriage crusade. After a judge married a same-sex couple, a state representative called foul. He filed a complaint with a Texas district judge. State Representative Tony Tinderholt, a four-time divorced, five-time married man thought it was in his purview to determine what is right or wrong.
Politicians running these states are a disgrace to their states and the country. They continue to make their states the laughingstock of the world.
i don't see the advantage of  preventing the same sex anything  what is it they think will benefit if they continue to discriminate or is it just the hatefulness and blind bigotry of those on the right wing?  there can be no harm done to them separately or collectively, claiming God is driving them is not washing when you violate all the other tenets and commandments.  God loves us all the Bible says we are to love each other so that is ignored and "hate everyone not like you, and not all who do" replaces it?

as far as the hateful politicians running those states they wouldn't be able to do it if their hateful constituents did not vote and support that way of a Godless life.
