Roughly 60 miles from Ferguson, Missouri, where racial tensions have been high in the wake of black teenager Michael Brown’s death, a dozen high school seniors, all white females, decided to wear blackface during a Powder-Puff football game earlier this month. The incident initially flew under the radar as the game was played on November 5th. While the school posted pictures of the games played that night on the school’s Twitter account, the pictures were intentionally taken from a distance so as not to show the girls up close.
these girls are seniors no way they did not realize the connotation they were making by doing this it has never been anything but racially done to humor other bigoted people and insult Black people. don't think they realized this also showed ow Whites have stolen from Black people Jolson on stage mimicking and those two White guys who played Amos and Andy on radio, the record promoters who took music claimed it as theirs and released it with a White group. also imitation is the sincerest form of flattery so were their ignorant attempt at levity more flattery than racial? if they were unaware of the social message their act sends the adults in the school sure did but they let it go all bigots are not racist but all racist are bigots. despicable them
in light of what's going on in St. Louis that was a reprehensible thing to do it only fans the flames of an already potential raging fire
