New York Times on reports on the state of mind of congressional leaders as President Obama begins to make the case for military strikes against ISIS/ISIL, including this appallingly honest quote from Rep. Jack Kingston of Georgia on what his colleagues—in particular those in the GOP—are thinking:
“It’s an election year. A lot of Democrats don’t know how it would play in their party, and Republicans don’t want to change anything. We like the path we’re on now. We can denounce it if it goes bad, and praise it if it goes well and ask what took him so long.”
It's not appalling that Kingston spoke honestly. It's appalling because what he said is true. The only question is which outcome they're rooting for.
if you.ve been looking for a reason not to vote republican and those Dems in red states that vote republican, how is we're being used as a cash cow for politicians to get rich and positioned for an even more lucrative job after they've used us up, well here it is, you did not vote for them to take continuous vacations and breaks and certainly didn't pay them to do nothing for 6 years with a promise to do more of the same the next 2 years. you voted for them to support your interest like they promised you know jobs 2010 to quote Bush "those WMD's have to be somewhere", they must be hiding with the republican jobs.
seriously aside from vague assurances that never manifest what have republicans done for you anytime not just lately? that was mainly addressed to right wing voters who my have stumbled on. no better reason to fire someone than not doing their job and collecting a check for it.
