Fox News latched onto a study of the first full year of budget sequestration, claiming that the report undermines warnings that across-the-board cuts would cost the economy hundreds of thousands of jobs. In fact, the federal workforce has been significantly reduced since sequestration went into effect and fiscal austerity continues to drag down job creation and economic growth in the private sector.

According to a comprehensive March 2014 report from the Government Accountability Office (GAO), federal agencies significantly reduced compensation, work hours, job incentives, investments, hiring, and public services in response to across-the-board budget cuts known as "sequestration":
this played right into the hands of republicans and IMO they are not trying to stop it because the resulting numbers makes for good spin that Pres.'s policies are failing when in reality his plans that got through the iron curtain of republican resistance were all positives the ones the claim negative are the ones they have stalled by not bringing it to te floor for vote or constant misleading of facts. correction all his plans successful and not are deemed failures by republicans i guess they mean failures because they couldn't prevent them like that pesky "OBAMACARES".Sequestration reduced or delayed some services to the public, including benefit payments, and disrupted agency operations, despite actions taken by agencies to minimize sequestration's effects. it was originally set up as a deterrent to do nothing and was suppose to implement if congress failed to might certain goals on budget and deficit, which now looks like they deliberately did nothing to induce the pain and circling of our economy. all they would have to have done when the hurt was realized was to vacate it but they wanted us to feel it and in their heads turn on Pres. which a lot of Americans have done without considering that they prevented us from emerging not the Pres.
they cooked their rhetoric to shift blame, like they deny Bush's admin as being the father of this recession i've always said they do the dirt tan try to sweep it on Pres.'s shoes.
