Article PhotoOne Republican congressman from a heavily Hispanic district is signing on to a Democrat-led push to advance immigration reform before year's end, the Washington Post reported Saturday.
Rep. Jeff Denham (R-CA) told the Post he's the first Republican to co-sponsor with 185 Democrats a plan giving undocumented immigrants a path to citizenship, and he expects "more to come on board."
The plan takes up most of the Senate's bipartisan immigration bill, according to the Post, but includes a House GOP-approved border security bill. Denham told the Post he was sold on the plan when Democrats agreed to include a provision providing a path to citizenship for young immigrants who serve in the military.
not a bad plan using those who want to come here to fight in useless wars will they pay them minimum wage or lower and deny the their spouses rights to what all others are geting.
the right wing puts stuff in bills as riders they know ain't goin' nowhere, here this applies both sides do it except Progressives do it to improve the citizenry not the big business people.
then if they don't get it they pick up their marbles an"
it's endgame.   clean bills don't exist when it grants we the people" rights or "stuff", it gets dirtied up with republican killing medicare and other programs aimed at those people.
While some conservatives are eager to block President Barack Obama's second-term priority in the wake of the shutdown fight, House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) told reporters Wednesday that the issue "needs to be addressed."
Denham told the Post that party leadership assured him immigration reform will be "on the floor by the end of the year."
Beoghner has to check with the other side before he can say yes or no so far the record doesn't lean toward that.  they don't want them here they are potential Progressive voters assuring them a decade or better in a neighborhood curb without a view but replete with sewer facilities.
