Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) on Friday laid the blame for the unsuccessful defund Obamacare effort squarely on Senate Republicans in his keynote speech at an Iowa GOP fundraiser.
“We didn’t accomplish our ultimate policy goal in this battle, and we didn’t because unfortunately a significant number of Senate Republicans chose not to unite and stand side by side with House Republicans,” Cruz said at the Iowa GOP's Ronald Reagan dinner, as quoted by the Des Moines Register. “Had we stood together I’m convinced the outcome of this fight would be very, very different."
The Texas Republican fired up the crowd of 600 by urging conservatives to "come together" to combat key issues like the health insurance mandate and increasing national debt. The key to uniting Republicans and turning the country around, he said, was to "restore historic economic growth."
the T-P bogeyman isn't so scary after all those that did the right thing for the people are now demonized for doing so. how anti american is that? these guys really feel they are in a war bt if both party's have the peoples interest at hard there should only be discourse that incorporates both sides.
not telling people that for Pres. to give them health care it's an abomination, they have nothing good to say so why don't they not say anything and let their deeds speak for them, is that a deafening silence we are not hearing?
“And let me tell you, growth and principles are ideas that unify Republicans,” Cruz said, as quoted by the Register. “They are principles and ideals that unify the evangelical community, the liberty movement and the business community. Growth and freedom are principles that bring together Main Street and the tea party.”
but for 5 years they have had neither growth or principles just obstruction and name calling grade school monkey bars talk, so how stupid are those 600 that cheered him on obviously oblivious to what he said, there is no light at the end of their tunnel.
guess he didn't get the email that they are no longer fans of the evangelical.
