update: i wonder if this is just another way to excuse problems with Priest and not put him in position to have to act on it. i hope it was my first thought and not more of the same.

Article PhotoPope Francis on Monday said “who am I to judge?” gay people as he discussed one of the most divisive issues affecting the Catholic Church.
“I have yet to find anyone who has a business card that says he is gay,” the pontiff said at a press conference in which he addressed the reports of a "gay lobby" within the Vatican.
“They say they exist. If someone is gay, who searches for the Lord and has goodwill, who am I to judge?” he added.
Francis added that he thought lobbies of any kind -- including political ones -- were bad.
The press conference, which lasted for an hour and 20 minutes, was held during the flight back from his week-long trip to Brazil.
The official position of the Catholic Church on the issue is that while homosexual desires or attractions are not in themselves sinful, the physical acts are.
aside from the obvious what's the difference as to sin? not a fan of Catholic tradition but i'm growing a rapid appreciation of this pope, he seems to think and act for himself, not like others that seemed to me to take their lead from the cardinals and bishops, he is all the way live, he is capable of bringing them into the 21 century and handle their problems with something other than transfers.
Francis discussed a range of issues during the press conference, admitting that the church had not done enough to develop “the theology of women in the church.”
He said that the church had spoken on the issue of women priests and expressed itself clearly on the issue of abortion, but he added that important female biblical figures had been overlooked.
"Mary is more important than the apostles," he said. "One must think about women in the church. We have not done enough theology on this."
i remember that being brought to my attention awhile back, it said Jesus payed more attention to her,the other Apostles were jealous and tried not to give her props after the crucifixion and did not want to follow her lead, even though he showed himself to her first after he had risen and told her to tell the others.  there where also thoughts that they were married and the Holy Grail was the cup or plate used at last supper and the same one that captured his blood on the cross.
i believe mans greatest self undoing is his dismissal of the importance of women in our lives above being mothers, selfish gotta be the head person has set us on the paths that have led us to where we are and have been, we have to admit men really muffed up the world not all but it seems those in power have mostly stalled our advancement others have been able to and tried but those who would oppose drag us back.
