Article PhotoEarlier this week, George Zimmerman's brother, Robert Zimmerman ruffled feathers with racially charged tweets that compared Trayvon Martin to an alleged killer. But on Wednesday, the neighborhood watch volunteer's brother sat down with CNN's Piers Morgan to apologize for the tweets.
However, he didn't completely recant his tweet during his appearance on the show.
"I don't think Twitter is the place to make points about what you recall a year ago, because the recollections that I have, or that we have as a family specifically, are very different than what can be portrayed in 140 characters," he said. "I realize those were controversial and offensive, and I did publicly apologize for them. I don't think it was the right thing to do that way. I understand it's controversial and I apologize for it and I'm sincere about that. I shouldn't have done it this way."
Robert Zimmerman took to the social network on Sunday, sharing a photo of De'Marquis Elkins, a teen charged with the fatal shooting of a 1-year-old in Georgia, and Trayvon Martin flipping the middle finger.
this is the mindset of the brother defending the brother who doesn't have a racist bone in his body, what did he miss the Sunday chat at the table, one carrys a gun spews racial epithets, stalks and kills a Black teen and after the jury of predetermination acquits him he see fit to disparge the dead Black kid falsely. c'mom DOJ it's all in that family and he has never flipped the birdie before right?
this guy is painting a cross hairs on his own back, if the fallacy of the trial is dying down why stir it up and bring yourself in the picture was he jealous and want his 15 mins. sounds like it to me.  he has now brought hisself to the front of the family picture.  when you get away with a wrong you don't remind people, guess the criminal does always return to the scene of the crime.
