THE COUNTRY LOSES

A defeat for Barack Obama on Tuesday would be no ordinary loss for Democrats.
It would be a traumatic experience: the death of the dream of liberal realignment embodied in Obama’s insurgent 2008 campaign. And it would be all the more distressing to Democrats because so many of them fervently believe they will win tomorrow.
not so much we think we'll win but if he loses then it signals to the world that America is not as advertised it belongs to the rich and their army of racist minnions.
no longer can you obtain the previously hyped American Dream the right has for the last 4 years and since the Nixon WH tried to control and influence "we the people" to their own advancement.
hard to realize the dream when it's rigged against you, you can go on about his not being up in Denver, but it's more about the lack of moral empathy for your fellow American, choosing because_____you fill in your individual blank.
Unlike Republicans, many of whom have no particular love for their nominee, Democrats admire and sympathize with the president, understanding he came into office at a difficult time. If Obama were to lose, Democrats would suddenly be leaderless for the first time in half a decade and would be forced to confront agonizing questions about the viability of their party's agenda — health care reform, most of all.
not leaderless just still subject to right wing tyrannical rule. leaders don't mean squat on Nov. 6th it's all about you and where your sense of country and decency lies.
