The Senate on Thursday approved President Obama's envoy to El Salvador despite Republican efforts to derail Mari Carmen Aponte's nomination over her public support for gay rights and allegations that she was romantically involved with a Cuban spy two decades ago.This time, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), under pressure to approve the Puerto Rican nominee, garnered enough support to get cloture on Aponte's nomination, 62-37.
i really hope Hispanic voter's are not being sucked in by Rubio's act of "all things Hispanic". where has he been all the time he was just being a republican? he is a schill for the right wing to influence the Hispanic vote, i hope they realize that it is all a hoax, remember they promised jobs to their base 2010, enough said, recognize.
In a speech before the Council on Foreign Relations, the freshman senator called for more U.S. action in Syria, which he said had crossed “a tipping point” after President Bashar al-Assad’s forces massacred more than 100 villagers, nearly half of them children. Rubio also said he was prepared for U.S. military action in Iran if necessary because he didn’t expect negotiations or sanctions to stop the Tehran regime from pursuing development of a nuclear weapon.
why is he rattling his freshman saber, why is he talking war, he is still wet behind the ears. talking smack of republican kind is not conducive to any negotiations to move forward, if you are starting it off with another invasion and lost of life and money that seems to be their real concern,but with talk like this is it really. are we not over that right wing war mongering rhetoric look where it has gotten us. the right is trying to bring back that we'll keep you safer again, when they didn't keep us safe from 911, their admin wasn't worried about Bin Laden, Bush didn't want to swat at flies, and that was after they killed 3,000 people and devastated NYC. would you rather have 8 more years of that including the losing of 750,000 jobs a month or would you rather have a car industry, healthcare, and diplomacy and any amount of jobs two jobs beats the hell out of losing 750,000 a month. recognize
it's getting close we don't know whether or not the DOJ is going to act like they are the DOJ and start prosecuting some of these constitutional crimes. we are in a country that has been divided by the right blamed on the Pres. and in a good position to accomplish their coup of America if "we the people" don't start immediately looking out for ourselves. too late Nov. 7, 2012.
