The Republican presidential candidates’ reactions to the State of the Union speech given by the person who currently holds the job they’re angling for can best be summed up by Rand Paul, still steaming from the news that his poll numbers are too low for him to qualify for the next varsity debate.
“I wish that tonight he would announce, ‘hey guys, I’ve really been a failure as a president over the last seven years and I’m gonna take off early so cause I want to go play golf.’
That was before the speech. No, nobody had a sudden bout of graciousness after hearing the president talk, either:
it's always befuddled me that republicans think they have this uncanny ability to predict and critique Pres.'s speeches before he ever makes them. their before and after response is just misstatement of fact and reaffirmation of the same faulty prognosis.  they can do this in the moment but after 7 years they still have no plan for anything but they are also authorities on what Pres. is not doing although i heard quite a few corrections to their lies during the speech as to what is and has been done,  and that mysterious disloyal liberal media never reports anything positive just the negative republican ranting.

G W Bush, "you can fool some of the people all of the time and those are the ones you want to concentrate on"

if you missed it or want make up your own mind here is a link to the address compare it to republican response.
