Remember clear back to Sunday when Gov. Scott Walker (R-WI) said that having a big border wall between us and Canada is a "legitimate issue" and should get real consideration? On TV? With people watching? Never happened says Walker now.
This is just a joke in terms of how people react to things. I've said for some time we need to secure the southern border. I've talked about the infrastructure, the personnel, the technology needed there. I've talked about enforcing the laws. People should go back and watch what I actually said on Sunday.
I didn't say that at all. I talked about listening to some people at events, campaign events, one of which was someone who had been involved I believe in the past in law enforcement and he raised a question about personnel from the federal government assisting people in those counties along the northern borders of the United States. He talked about personnel and I said it's a legitimate issue to look to make sure there's enough staff with those local law enforcement officials. I've never talked about a wall to the north.
All right, then. Let's take him up on that challenge. Walker, on Sunday:
"Do you want to build a wall north of here too?" Todd asked, noting that Walker has talked about building a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border to deter terrorism in addition to illegal immigration.
"Some people have asked us about that in New Hampshire," Walker replied. "They raised some very legitimate concerns, including some law enforcement folks that brought that up to me at one of our town hall meetings about a week and a half ago. So that is a legitimate issue for us to look at." […]
In the immediate aftermath of his comments, Walker didn’t back down, tweeting on Sunday: “Law enforcement expressed concerns to me about border security. I won’t ignore them.”
The question: Do you want a wall built in the north? The answer: That's a "legitimate issue." So Walker's backtrack would rate a "four Pinocchios' pants on fire" rating.
you know what irks me the most not so much republican lying that is a staple in their platform but the fact that their base supports it like winning is all that matters no matter how you do it or who you screw to do it including themselves. that is dangerous to the rest of us if they don't care or refuse to believe they can ruin everyone's life out of blind loyalty to those who oppose them too. truly the party of and by stupid.
