Jeb! took his dubious talking points on the rise of ISIS for a spin at the Iowa State Fair over the weekend and ran into a little trouble—the facts. Jeb! charged that we got out of Iraq too soon under the Obama administration, which prompted this response:
“We had to get out in 2011!” the heckler yelled.
Despite the interruption, Bush kept his composure. “We didn’t have to get out in 2011,” he retorted.
“Your brother signed the deal!” the heckler continued.
“It could have been modified, and that was the expectation,” Bush said. “Everybody in Iraq and everybody in Washington knew that this deal could have been expanded. And now what we need to do–”
“Your brother signed a bad deal!”
“—now we have to do something else,” he finished.
Face it, Jeb!, your brother built that—as the heckler noted. Of course, W. had some help building ISIS, which also wasn't lost on the attendees.
One of the fair-goers asked the Republican presidential candidate during his appearance on the Des Moines Register Soapbox whether he was being advised by Paul Wolfowitz, George W. Bush's deputy secretary of defense and the architect of his Iraq War policy. [...]
"Paul Wolfowitz is providing some advice," Bush said. "I get most of my advice from a team that we have in Miami, Florida. Young people that are going to be ... they're not assigned, have experience either in Congress or the previous administration."
Great, so it's either Wolfowitz or some unassigned "young people." Really, Jeb!? That's all you got?
the absurdity of this guy and W's colossal screw up in Iraq is getting in that stranger than fiction zone. why would you sign why would they sign something that was widely understood could be modified why not make the modifications then and avoid the June rush it makes no sense why leave your deal signed to someone else later who might not share your opinion???????????????? but what coming from that side of the street does make any sense????
