Rachel Maddow just hung Fox News up by the short hairs. The published requirements for a spot on the main stage, per the posted Fox criteria are as follows:
The network will require contenders to place in the top 10 in an average of the five most recent national polls in the run-up to the event, narrowing what is expected to be a field of 16 or more by the Aug. 6 event in Cleveland.
Rachel did a little research and found a small problem...The last five recognized polls were Fox news and Bloomberg polls from today published before 5PM EDT, followed by CBS News, Monmouth University poll and an NBC/WSJ poll.
But when Fox announced their results and the poll used, the NBC/WSJ poll wasn't listed! For their 5th "most recent" poll an older Quinnipiac poll.
The likely reason, the NBC/WSJ poll had Kasich and Rick Perry tied at 3% each, leading to a statistical dead heat for the 10th podium. The Quinnipiac poll had Kasich ahead of Perry 5%-2%, giving the sitting Governor of the host city a clear lead over Perry.
What a crock of shit! Why didn't they just tell the truth in the first place and admit that they were just going to cherrypick the candidates that they meaning Fox felt best "qualified".
when i first heard that Fox was picking the debate candidates all kinds of bells and whistles and sirens and shouts from outside my window (just kidding) went off like a Donald Trump rant. it was obvious that either the conservatives or tea people were at the helm and trying to stay above the fray tasked good ol Fox with being the hatchet man.
i'm still wondering if they are pushing trump because of his numbers which have plenty of time to disappear or just got backfired on because of those numbers he hurts them makes no sense for them to keep him a float but as he says he's rich and needs nobody but the base he left that part out. so are they stuck between trump and a "i don't know, i'm so confused" place??????
