the probe into the jail cell death of Sandra Bland will be treated as a murder investigation, a Texas district attorney said Monday.
"There are many questions being raised about this case. It needs a thorough and exhaustive review," said Waller County District Attorney Elton Mathis during an evening news conference. [snip] Video from the Waller County Jail was expected to be released Monday night, and dashboard camera footage from the traffic stop that led to Bland's arrest will be released Tuesday, officials said.
at first look this is inspiring that Texas of all places is actually saying they will investigate the murder of a Black woman as a murder. is this lip service that will go on for years with cop on paid vacation and DA convinces an already prejudiced jury that the cop did no wrong and should be canonized. or will there be justice where it has pretty much never been for murdered Black people.
i also wonder what prompted this was there pressure from somewhere which seemed unlikely they never cared how it looked before so what was it??? whatever let's pray it is real and judgement's by jury are fair
