Republican leaders ponder their options for blocking Iran deal. An expert undermines their stance

Congressional Republicans are wasting no time in planning an angle of attack on the six-power deal with Iran curtailing its nuclear program while lifting economic sanctions. Fortunately, they have a very tough path forward in taking an effective stand against the deal. Under the Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act passed in April, 

Congress can pass a resolution approving the deal, reject it with a vote of disapproval or do nothing. A vote of disapproval would need 60 votes to get past a Senate filibuster and 67 to override the inevitable presidential veto. It would be foolish to say they face insurmountable odds. Stuff happens. But the likelihood that they can sandbag the agreement is very slim indeed.

Senator Bob Corker, Republican of Tennessee and chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, who guided the review act to passage, told Jonathan Weisman and Julie Hirschfeld Davis:

“In the end, those who believe this truly is going to keep Iran from getting a nuclear weapon will vote for it. Those who believe that is not the case, and the world is not going to be safer—in some ways it may pave the way for them to get a nuclear weapon—will vote against it.”

To bolster their chances, writes Alexander Bolton at The Hill, they're hoping they can win the PR war with the American public and give some fence-straddling congressional Democrats reason to join the opposition to the agreement:

Some Senate Republicans are thinking about moving a motion of approval of the deal, believing it would put Democrats in a tough spot ahead of next year’s elections. Such a move in the upper chamber could lead to less than half of the Senate backing the president, allowing for more favorable headlines for the GOP. The House, however, is more likely to pass a resolution of disapproval.

A third option is to move legislation sponsored by Menendez and Sen. Mark Kirk (R-Ill.) placing new sanctions on Iran, which the Banking Committee passed earlier this year and has Democratic support.

true to their nature they start contriving ways to obstruct anything positive the Pres. does.  they started in Nov. 2008 before he took office pledging to not help him which btw is not doing anything to help we the people.  they continue to this hour trying to negate him and all traces of him.

they tried to usurp the Iran talks going outside our gov't to foreign saber wavers that are like them right wing zealots Netanyahu is who i'm talking about that is treason in my book, but in theirs it's another day at the office.  they wrote letters to Iran telling them they can't trust any deal because they can overturn it. violating the law that again is treason.  we really can't expect them to know that given their propensity to not read anything especially those things that deal with the constitution that they call up at every chance to say Pres. is violating.

we don't need or want persons who think with a Pinky and the Brain mentality taking over the world.  the call it world leadership but does military bases in every country they decide to invade sound like desire to lead or desire to command that my friends always culminates into dominance, 

"power corrupts absolute power corrupts absolutely", we've seen that proven out right here in America with republicans invading the political system gerrymandering, voter suppression sounds like absolute power to me and we know it has corrupted them absolutely.

let's make this short and sweet or is it too late lol?  there are only 2 alternatives to the Iran problem accept this deal as our partners have or break away in that rogue republican way we all have come to know and........?  or go to war and i'm sure you know which side picks what question is what side do we support and will we support it on Nov. 4th 2016?????????

sanctions will fall apart Iran gets their money back and are free to do what republicans have claimed they would do and what they are trying to prevent except it's such a azzbackward way of doing it and a more direct way to accomplish it war that is.   if republican congress violates the trust in partnership with the other countries making it really hard to broker any kind of future deals led by them or the real Americans that aren't trying to take us back into war
