While most of the Republican field is defending John McCain from Donald Trump in their Twitter fight regarding his service in Vietnam, McCain is lashing out at Marco Rubio's stance on Comprehensive Immigration Reform. In an article in The New Yorker from Thursday, McCain, who also flip-flopped on HIS OWN Immigration Reform Bill, takes a shot at Rubio claiming he only goes which way the wind blows.
Jake Tapper asked Rubio to comment on the article.
RUBIO: That's just John McCain being John McCain.
Of course, the mealy-mouthed Rubio didn't want to be on the record for disrespecting the former presidential candidate. He explained that the (Teabagged) House would never pass a bill that doesn't secure the border, which is the catchphrase used by every Republican, as if the border is a free-for-all for anyone who wants to enter the United States. He said he kept repeating that the enforcement aspect of the bill he previously supported was suddenly, not strong enough.
RUBIO: I know, the only way we can move forward on (immigration) is to secure our borders (duh), prevent visa overstays and have a new verify system. And only after we do that can we do the other two things I believe we need to do: modernize our legal immigration system and deal with those who have been here for a long time illegally in a reasonable and responsible way.
Jake Tapper plays an exchange with a voter last month in New Hampshire where the man asks Rubio if he supports a pathway to citizenship for immigrants who have been here illegally and he of course repeated his border and verification talking points. He did NOT, however, say that he objects to a pathway to citizenship.
Tapper asks him if he still supports that same pathway to citizenship and Rubio waffled, as predicted. If all we could get is a work permit, that is good enough, he claims. Rubio said that the current Green Card and resident statuses must be met, so in essence, he doesn't support any change to the current system. In fact, he wants to make it even harder.
He thinks making people wait over ten years to even think about applying for citizenship is perfectly fair. If the best we can do is stop at the Green Card or work permit process, that's good enough for him. He's running for GOP nominee, for Pete's sake! He can't admit that dirty immigrants should ever be given a break.
you know the two guys they were banking on to deliver the Hispanic vote were blindsided by the party agenda of no Hispanics in America except in their gardens and kitchens or GA. peach tree fields so the chose the party that hates their genes over the people who believed they had a friend.
trust me they don't have any friends among themselves that's what the 5 factions of that party represents dissension, conservatives, moderates, tea people, libertarians, evangelical right wing religion, some things they agree on like hate discrimination bigotry and the like but when it comes to you their people and the social nets some want one or two others none most want repeal and replace problem is they have no replacements they wasted all their time and your tax money to that end and failing miserably i might add.
btw last i heard it was a 13 year wait, supported by both of the republican Hispanic vote saviours, they should have stopped the same hate rhetoric might have worked. DUH!!!!!
