In his Talking Points Memo, Bill O'Reilly said that these are tough times for social conservatives in America, particularly because of the scores of vicious political websites that try to destroy people with whom they disagree.
O'Reilly asserted that in the 2016 presidential race, Republican candidates are in the "smear zone," especially if they speak out against liberal causes.
He pointed out that GOP candidates Scott Walker, Mike Huckabee and Marco Rubio were all recently misquoted, marginalized and attacked for their comments about abortion, religion and climate change, respectively.
"These kinds of attacks have changed politics because the websites know few readers will fact-check the headline," O'Reilly said.
"It is very easy to marginalize anyone with strong opinions. And since the press is overwhelmingly left, it is conservatives who get branded as kooks and extremists," O'Reilly said.
He pointed out that a "socialist" like Elizabeth Warren is a woman of stature, while a pro-life political candidate who is skeptical of climate change and against gay marriage will be "brutally assaulted."
"Believe me, I've experienced this for 19 years. I know how vicious the game is," O'Reilly said. "But I can fight back. Others who are smeared cannot. Revolting situation that has affected our republic in a major way."http://insider.foxnews.com/2015/05/11/revolting-situation-bill-oreilly-says-its-tough-times-social-conservatives-america.he should know what he says here and he has lived it by doing those exact things to those of us he so lovingly refers to as "left wing loons". strong smearing well we've seen him do that he just over talks and takes on that Buster Bad Azz attitude like he's scaring somebody he won't do anything more aggressive than a shout down if he gets physical he loses a lot of the riches he's always bragging about the guy is a fraud his recent exposing or outing has proved him to be irrelevant in the reporting game. i wonder does Fox have disdain for his characterless persona or do they just keep him around for the under informed "FOLKS" feedings. but "believe me" hasn't he seen his own press???
as to revolting times that's just them coming to the realization that less and less are buying into their misleading misinformation and since they chose not to change anything except how they lie and failing at that too the clock is ticking!!!
