Just four months ago, the future chairman of the House Select Committee on Benghazi delighted core elements of the Republican base when he declared that the panel would be probing “what appears to be a White House cover-up.”
Rep. Trey Gowdy of South Carolina said he had secret evidence proving that President Obama’s administration had deliberately withheld key documents from lawmakers looking into the Sept. 11, 2012 attack in the eastern Libyan city.
"I have evidence that not only are they hiding it, there’s an intent to hide it,” he told Fox News in May. “I can’t disclose that evidence yet, but I have evidence that there was a systematic intentional decision to withhold certain documents from Congress and we’re just sick of it.”
Now, with the 2014 mid-term elections fast approaching and the panel’s first hearing slated for September, the former prosecutor from Spartanburg, S.C., is taking a more tempered, bipartisan tone. He has declared that he wants to avoid a media “circus.” Other House Republicans are sending out similar signals, denying that their creation of the special panel ever was political in nature
as long as Issa has been tilting at windmills with his "EVIDENCE" and has yet to unveil it you would think in light of the laughter at him and his passion to get the goods on Pres. that he claimed to already have he would have released and had the last laugh. now we have another got in his mold doing the same thing claiming "EVIDENCE" but not wanting to release it now, well folks their intent is to put the accusation out there and let it serve as the condemnation and proof.
you would think gerrymandering, voter suppression, id challenges and their deception would be enough but IMO their knowing it to be lies are worried they won't be enough so we get these attempts to tarnish with criminal acts you know those things that a lot of their prospects for 2016 are facing now? they are backing off because big money sees no end to the tunnel they are in and bank rolling is diminishing so they back off blaming the media of over embellishing you know what they have been doing since 2008 before Pres. took office, and they are still leaping without looking.
note with no regard for claims of fiscal responsibility, they are the purse string holders but they seem to have released their grip because Issa has spent millions on your money, who knows how much the new lunatic will get for evidence neither has been able to produce. they are playing a shell game and they lost the pea.
