COLUMBIA, S.C. — A former South Carolina state trooper who shot an unarmed man was charged Wednesday with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature.
Sean Groubert, 31, was booked at the Richland County Detention Center. He faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
The charges were brought by the 5th Circuit Solicitor's Office, which reviewed the findings of an investigation into the incident conducted by the State Law Enforcement Division.
A warrant states that audio and visual recordings, as well as written statements, indicate the shooting was without justification.
this is what i referred to in last post they came to the conclusion not justified by video evidence no muss no fuss just charge him. surprise that SC moved faster than Los Angeles especially when the victim is Black.
it really looks like these potential homicidal cops get in a zone and nothing matters but to pull the trigger, we have read and seen stores where a White alleged suspect is not treated in the same way even when displaying more dangerous actions and reactions. it's becoming really clear that a double standard is applied White criminals get a walk Black innocents shot and killed look at video he had his hands up too are the signaling Black communities "surrender is not an option".
asking the victim if he was hit IMO supports my theory that they get in a homicidal zone he was feet away and as the victim was he hit didn't he see was he not aware of where he aimed or wasw he in that zone?
