Even for the Republican House, this is one heck of a nothingburger:
House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) has told his members to expect votes on bills to highlight Senate gridlock when they return from the August recess. [...] McCarthy said the House plans to repackage many of the so-called "jobs bills" it has already passed in this session of Congress and consolidate them into a larger package. Those measures include limiting various regulations and renewing expired tax breaks on a permanent basis, such as the research and development tax credit. [...]
McCarthy said the House will also vote on a consolidated package of bills it has already passed to boost domestic energy. Those measures include expediting approval of the Keystone XL pipeline and opening federal lands for energy production. [...]
Lastly, McCarthy encouraged Republicans to talk to their constituents about the effects of the healthcare law while in their districts.
So they're going to re-vote on a bunch of stuff they already voted on but which won't go anywhere this time either, and they're going to try to rile up the base about Obamacare, again. That may be the least ambitious pre-election plan ever.
the only thing that is as ridiculous as this is their base will bite oblivious to the fact that they have heard this before and reacted to it before. ObamaCares is law it's in the books it's working millions in red states are quite happy just like republicans politicians trying to sell the lies. now the republicans think that all they have to do is warm over the last rants and the base will be giddy thinking it's new red meat
if you let them tell it Pres. is the only one who played golf while the republicans burn the country down while fiddling. remember this?
