Gov. Chris Christie would face possible impeachment if evidence emerges showing he knew more about the George Washington Bridge scandal, the New Jersey lawmaker leading a legislative inquiry said this morning.Appearing on “Face the Nation,” Assemblyman John Wisniewski (D-Middlesex) said theAssembly could move to impeach Christie if something comes to light revealing a direct link between the Republican governor and the September closure of local access lanes leading to the bridge in Fort Lee. Wisniewski, who chairs the Assembly transportation committee, said those closures clearly constituted a crime because public property was used for political purposes.“If it becomes known that the governor was involved and he knew about it and he knew about the cover-up, and he was approving the actions taken by his senior staff, that raises serious questions that the assembly ought to look at,” Wisniewski said. “And that ought to be considered in light of what our responsibility is. The Assembly has the ability to do articles of impeachment.”But Wisniewski said no direct link to Christie had been established at this point, and referring to impeachment proceedings he added, "We're a long way ahead of that."
it will take sworn testimony from someone in his circle, i still wonder about Bridget Kelly, why would she just shrink after he repeatedly called her a liar on national TV in light of emails with incriminating language "time for some traffic problems in fort lee", there was duplicity between her and David Wildstein
On ABC, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani said Christie's political career would likely come to a crashing halt if it turned out he lied about the scandal."If for some reason it's not true, the man has put his political career completely at risk," Giuliani told Martha Raddatz on "This Week." "If it turns out that there's some evidence that he knew about it, he's taken the complete risk that his political career is over."But the fellow Republican said it seems clear Christie told the truth last week in his two-hour press conference. Christie said he knew nothing about the involvement of one his top aides,Bridget Anne Kelly, and fired her because she lied to him.Christie seemed honest, Giuliani said, pointing out that he had made light of the issue when asked about it at a December press conference, saying, "I was actually the guy out there. I was in overalls and a hat ... I was actually the guy working the cones.""I don't think he would have made a joke about it had he had any knowledge of it," Giuliani said. The mayor said it made perfect sense to him that Christie wouldn't know about something so huge, just the way President Obama said he didn't know the Internal Revenue Service was targeting right-wing groups.
they are playing a perverted game of two card monte, they try to make their lies of scandal by Pres. an acceptable excuse for Christies alledged crimes, problem is they are all proven to be false republican creations.
and we are to find the true guilty one. it's funny how they tout their homemade scandals as scandals to end all scandal, yet the group the denying of Christie's in with those biggee's, who's zoomin' who?
