is it in the water or air or tea, that which renders Fla residents crazy?
Article PhotoA Florida man is facing charges of felony child abuse after being accused of hitting his daughter for 40 minutes “to the beat” of Robin Thicke’s summer hit “Blurred Lines.”
An Escambia County Sheriff’s report obtained by The Smoking Gun on Tuesday said that a complaint was filed against 40-year-old Steven Grady Fillingim for child abuse after he beat his daughter for being “lazy” and skipping school.
When investigators spoke to the girl on Sunday, she told them that her father hit her on the face with his belt and with his hands because she had not vacuumed bugs that were in the family’s home on Saturday. As part of her punishment, she was made to hold a 20 pound weight in front of her body and then hold an 8 pound weight behind her.
She was also forced to shovel dirt for a period of 90 minutes.
On Thursday, the girl said that her father acted normal when she came home even though she had gotten in trouble for skipping school that day. But at around 9 p.m., he began to lash her with a switch.
She told investigators that he hit her “for approximately 40 minutes using the switch like a whip,” the police report said. “As he was striking [the girl], S/Steven Fillingim played the Robin Thicke song ‘Blurred Lines,’ striking her with the switch to the beat of the music.”
does this type of harsh punishment work as a deterrent, nah that's like murder those who commit it don't expect to be caught so death penalty doesn't change their intent, those who accidentally kill had no preconceived notion of committing the act so no thought of arrest or punishment.
i was abused in that manner by a stepfather same maniacal execution, it did restrict what i did so maybe it works, but truly i don't think that severe beating is the best way.
i always said i would beat him up when i got older, when i did he was sick and dying wasn't worth it more from a sense of it's not going to take the memory of the pain and abuse away, wonder would i have felt that way if he were not dying?
The report added that Fillingim also recorded the beating on his cellphone and sent it to his girlfriend, who provided the video to police.  The girl’s face could not be seen in the video, but the body of the person being beaten corresponded with the bruising police observed on the victim’s legs.
these are signs that should prevent this maniac from owning weapons of people destruction, if he has them they should be removed, who knows how close he was to going that route?
