Article PhotoRep. Charlie Rangel (D-NY) suggested on Friday morning that the tea party movement is comprised of the same types of people who fought against the civil rights movement during the 1960s.
Speaking with the Daily Beast, Rangel said of the movement: “It is the same group we faced in the South with those white crackers and the dogs and the police. They didn’t care about how they looked.
He added that the tea party movement can be defeated similar to how the civil rights movement eradicated Jim Crow mentality: “It was just fierce indifference to human life that caused America to say enough is enough.
‘I don’t want to see it and I am not a part of it.’ What the hell! If you have to bomb little kids and send dogs out against human beings, give me a break.”
my first thought was he should have chose another adjective, but them i thought two things why if his discontent reaches that level express your self isn't that the 1st amendment right that Whites use when they disparage and try to caricature the Pres.? second will he be treated differently then all those on the right wing who of late have been flexing their racist chest, Limbaugh and his Niggas, has he used it yet i haven't heard?  is their a double standard when it comes to rights, of course there are, will they exploit it i'm sure the usual suspects will as surrogates.
was what he said incorrect, no so what the fuss, truth?
When asked whether there are any Republicans worthy of his praise, Rangel offered up his friends in NJ Gov. Chris Christie and Rep. Peter King (R-NY), whom he said are both on the “hit list” of more conservative GOP members.
as i write i wonder if another word would have the impact of statement needed, my conclusion, no. i applaud his strength of conviction and hope he's not the only one with it.
