 did they do background checks?

PHOENIX (AP) — Arizona cities and counties that hold community gun buyback events will have to sell the surrendered weapons instead of destroying them under a bill Gov. Jan Brewer signed into law MondaThe bill was championed by Republicans in the GOP-controlled Legislature who argued that municipalities were skirting a 2010 law that was tightened last year and requires police to sell seized weapons to federally licensed dealers.
They argued that destroying property turned over to the government is a waste of taxpayer resources.against the wishes of people who turn over their unwanted weapons to keep them out of the hands of children or thieves.
waste of taxpayer resources huh, what about the waste of taxpayers?  the right wing is really going to put the final holes in and sink their own battleship.
90% across the board want the checks because it makes sense the right wing again ignores their children and continues on telling them they don't really want background checks "criminals won't participate" that for two reasons.
NRA protecting them by trying to kill the bill and of course the best reason so they don't get caught, which lowers the amount of guns slipping through which in turn lowers the number of dead Americans,
the republicans only care about the former lower gun sales, lowers the bribe money.
Buybacks are popular among some police and elected officials who either pay cash or hand out gift cards in exchange for weapons. Tucson and other Arizona communities destroyed weapons from the events, arguing that because the guns were voluntarily surrendered, the laws concerning weapons seized by authorities didn't apply.
House Bill 2455 prompted a furious debate in the state Senate, where Democrats accused Republicans of complaining about an overbearing federal government but then turning around and dictating policies to local governments.
keep track here the lies will outweigh any semlance of truth but just keep track 2014 if you still want to vote for them good luck getting mental health with a voucher not worth the paper they rubber stamped it on.
The bill "would force the resale of guns that would otherwise never have been used for violence," she wrote. "How many lives would be lost through the use of weapons our citizens hoped to be removed from the hands of criminals?"
