The same House Republican majority that spent the entire past two years haranguing Senate Democrats for ignoring piles of legislation has a new strategy.
Let the Senate act first — on nearly everything.
is it just me or have you noticed everytime Beohner tries to man up and issue ultimatums they seem to bite him and then come the tears.
Whether it’s an overhaul of the nation’s immigration laws, renewing the Violence Against Women Act or retooling gun regulations after mass shootings across the nation, House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) is perfectly fine with sitting on his hands. The House GOP’s days of incessantly repealing President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul are gone, as are their bills to eliminate obscure regulations.
hence the title "do nothing congress" no matter what they try to pull off their attempts at trickery don't work on a Pres. with an intellect not rivaled by anyone on the other side.
they keep coming to these fights armed to the teeth, hammering and deposing but they are without a clue, and Pres. outBama's them everytime.
i like the fact that they never seem to remember history except when they try and compare Pres. with one of theirs, no contest so they keep repeating arrogantly instead of taking a braeth and reading their own press.  i'm luvin' it
This “Senate first” strategy allows a divided House to sit back and watch Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) struggle to wrangle votes in a chamber filled with vulnerable Democrats up for reelection in 2014. But it also carries substantial risks. If Senate Republicans join with Democrats and push through major elements of Obama’s agenda, House Republicans could become isolated if they seek to dilute or block the legislative push.
In the early months of the new session, the House has done little other than temporarily allow the debt ceiling to be raised, clear a smattering of bills to help the East Coast rebuild from Hurricane Sandy and pass a bill by Rep. Tom Price (R-Ga.) that calls on Obama to state when he’ll balance the budget. And this week, the House is scheduled to take a whack at pay for federal workers. House GOP leaders are also purposefully not acting on any tax bills until they decide whether to take up tax reform.
games, trying to out slick and out right deceptive lies for all they have done just in the last 4 years, why do we need them? if you want to lower the budget start with wiping out the expense of do nothing waste in congress we'd same a mint no more witch hunts costing millions, no more blocing of jobs bills no more insuring of those who don't want to insure you.
