The latest annual report from the Department of Housing and Urban Development shows that the national homeless population held steady from 2011 to 2012, hardly good news but perhaps better than expected given the relatively weak economic climate.Progress is being made within the veteran community, with homeless rates falling by 17 percent since 2009, and among the chronically homeless, with 17 percent fewer people living on the streets as in 2007. But in the fight to end homelessness by the year 2020 — the stated mission of the United States Interagency Council on Homelessness in their 2010 plan — progress isn’t happening fast enough:“[The United States Interagency Council on Homelessness] have set ambitious goals for themselves, but I don’t think those are goals that aren’t doable,” said Nan Roman, the president of the National Alliance to End Homelessness. “But not at the rate that we’re going.”
what if Americans with kids old enough to understand and those too young not missing what is not a known, contributed that money to efforts to end homelessness? are there too many selfish, those who really go all out not for the kid but for their own ratification and appearances.
most kids i would say 4 and up would gladly sacrifice some of their Christmas to help others, that kind of contrary attitude is more with parents and grandparents then the kids of today, ask your kid see what they say but explain it correctly not like republicans "they want to TAKE it from you and give it to those who want the gov't to give them stuff, bet your kid has more compassion then you might think
i think even with the diverse child rearing in America this is a reality of peer pressure over riding those who raise to oppose, that child is out there at school interacting with others and liking them seeing that they are not like the parents say they are just like them, each one teaches one intentionally or by association. God made and makes more compassionateS then haters evidenced Nov. 6TH
