TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. Leaders of a northern Michigan church are defending their decision to ban a Muslim call to worship that was part of the planned program for a Veterans Day concert by public high school and community college vocal groups.
The Rev. David Walls of Traverse City's First Congregational Church says leaders feared it might offend military personnel or their families to hear "a prayer in Arabic, addressed to Allah."
The ban led Northwestern Michigan College to withdraw sponsorship of the Nov. 11 performance, part of the church's annual Mel Larimer Concert Series.
why are religions demonizing their peers yes their peers the do and claim the same philosophy as the other with their own personal tweeks that the congregation feels it can live with.
you don't hear them trying to prevent Baptist Presbyterian, or Catholics can't build here or that they might offend they all offend in some manner but they also are not Muslim.
they forget their past and the wars and death in the name of their religions bombing churches killing outright becuse of their faith Jews but don't remember anybody burning their books of worship do you?  intolerance is not the way of the Lord, but Evangelicals teach and indoctrinate their kids to that idioloy, and on and on.
hypocracy at least radical purveyors of hate at best.
the ideal of religion has been usurped and replaced with a doctrine on hate and intolerance and skulduggery equatable to "the thieves in the temple". they have the audacity to say that we are losing our religion, no we're not we know exactly where it is, do they?
