Patrick Moran, son of U.S. Representative for Virginia’s 8th congressional district Rep. Jim Moran, resigned from his father’s campaign after he was apparently caught on video conspiring with a plan to carry out voter fraud.
“Effective immediately, I have resigned from the Moran for Congress campaign,” Patrick Moran said in a statement to Talking Points Memo.The video below shows Patrick conspiring with an undercover reporter about how he can cast fraudulent ballots. It was made for conservative activist James O’Keefe’ Project Veritas.The Corner reports The 26-minute O’Keefe video begins with the undercover reporter approaching Moran at a Cosi restaurant in Arlington. The reporter tells Moran, whom he has never met, that he has a friend who has found a list of 100 Virginia residents who haven’t voted in the last three elections but are registered to vote.Patrick then tells the covert reporter that in order to cast the fraudulent ballots, he will need to forge documents, like bank statements or utility bills due to Virginia’s voter ID laws.In addition, Patrick suggested that the undercover reporter pose as a pollster, and place calls to the people he was planning on voting for to make sure that they are definitely not going to be voting.
