John Jay High School players tackling referee Robert Watts

Weeks after video of John Jay High School football players intentionally hitting a referee went viral, one of the team's coaches has finally confessed to ordering the brutal hits:
An assistant football coach at a Texas high school told his school principal that he did order two young players to hit a referee to the ground – but only in anger at the official’s racist remarks.
In a letter detailing his interactions with the head coach after the game, and seen by ESPN’s Outside the Lines, John Jay high school principal Robert Harris says the team’s secondary coach, Mack Breed, admitted he “directed the students to make the referee pay for his racial comments and calls.”
The players, Victor Rojas and Michael Moreno appeared on Good Morning America last week to explain their actions:
“You put your trust into this grown-up, this guardian, your coach, who’s been there for me. ... I trust him. I did what I was told,” Moreno said.
The teens say the coach was frustrated after several bad calls and racial comments. They allege Watts said "Speak English. This is America" to one Latino player and they heard him use the "N word" twice during the game. Multiple players have come forward to say they also heard the slurs. Watts' attorney says the players are lying.
Both the teens face possible expulsion during a hearing on Wednesday, plus criminal charges and a civil suit from referee Robert Watts.
