A New York tabloid mocked Donald Trump on its front page Tuesday for avoiding the draft during the Vietnam War, calling the presidential candidate a “G.I. Joke."
The New York Daily News reported that Trump dodged the draft with student deferments and a medical injury. It also detailed that Trump was a star athlete and a decorated cadet at the New York Military Academy, once winning a medal for being neat and orderly.
The 2016 candidate has been in the spotlight recently for saying that Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) is not a war hero because he was a prisoner of war.
"I like people who weren't captured," Trump said.
last republican president was a cheerleader and joined the local guard, Trump got a citation for being "Neat and Orderly" WUSSIES????? and he wants to demean a veteran who incidentally served on my ship in 1967 USS Forrestal CVA-59 No. Vietnam Gulf of Tonkin with an air squadron. i'd like to see Trumps academic records at New York Military Academy if he did indeed attend.
