Did he slip up? Chuck Todd speaks a truth that Americans must understand when watching 'the news'

Chuck Todd had a very interesting segment featuring comedians Lewis Black, W. Kamau Bell, and Laura Krafft. He was trying to examine the influence and impact of comedians in the body politic.
"I think when people watch Jon Stewart or John Oliver they feel like they at least are getting that person's perspective," Bell said. "But I don't think people believe with the news, I think they feel like they are, you know, you are getting a corporation's perspective. You are not getting that individual's perspective."
Todd then asked if the comedians should be held responsible for American cynicism. In other words, should these comedians be held responsible for the feelings Americans have (know) that government is broken. He references an article that pretty much attempted to take down Jon Stewart and The Daily Show.
Lewis Black said that part of the cynicism is a great feeling of disenfranchisement felt by most Americans. He said he was surprised over the last 25 years that Americans were more angry than he was. He stated correctly that like Hollywood, Washington politicians live in a bubble. Lewis Black had a backhanded stab at Chuck Todd and the traditional mainstream media news that caused Chuck Todd to tell an inconvenient truth. "I have watched you and everybody else where somebody comes on," Black said. "I don't know how you do it. Because I would be barking at them. Because they sit there and go 'glib glib [blah blah]' and you sit there."
Todd then interjected. "We all sit there because we all know the first time we bark is the last time we do the show. ... All of a sudden, no one will come on your show."
i watched this but i missed the part about catering to certain guest (republicans) for fear of none of them will come back for fear of being attacked and forced to address truths they have disavowed. that can't be helped by networks that interview liars on their lies but it also deprives us of knowing that truth and we are left with suspicions we cannot satisfy.  that is why it's so important that host don't go on a my opinion rant it will offend at least half of their audience, what is the answer i don't know there is one short of some way to only get truths out of those who are predisposed to mislead,.

Fox gets away with it because IMO they really don't care if their guest tell the truth they argue against it barking so to speak then they use it as a rebuttal to itself and a positive spin for their misdirection.  besides mostly only their base gets to hear them falsely beat down the other side and make a strike for what red meat they have been tossing them they call it confirmation i call it bald faced lying.

we've seen movies where the daunting reporter goes to any length to get the story fearless in that endeavor, today according to Todd networks are afraid of losing ratings if they can't get the controversial lying politicians to come on so when they do they betray us and throw out cotton ball questions with no challenge when they know they have been lied to.  that sets true journalism back decades and serves up a win for those who would mislead they get to do it on another network other than Fox unscathed and their subversive rhetoric gets out to a different audience some who it seems falls under the spell, G W Bush," you can fool some of the people all of the time and those are the ones you want to concentrate on".
