As if the Citizens United and McCutcheon Supreme Court decisions weren't enough to secure bought elections, now Conservative SCOTUS justices are making blatantly partisan and racist decisions on voting restrictions. Remember how SCOTUS struck down Section 4 of the Voting Rights Act? This is why that law was in place. Certain states have more of a propensity to suppress the black and minority votes.
Last week, US Court of Appeals, ruled NC residents could register on the same day they voted (in early voting). It put the minds of many NC voters at ease. Now this week, SCOTUS changed the ruling two days before the NC registration deadline. This will cost many North Carolinians their right to vote because they didn't know about the latest ruling/deadline. This is what voter suppression looks like.
The NC Republicans are most likely terrified of losing their seats, due to the state's growing citizens protest called, Moral Monday. The GOP will call in every favor and pull every stop before election day. I have believed, ever since attending several Moral Mondays, that the only way the GOP can win in NC, is if they do it dishonestly. The people are pissed, so Republicans are doing just that. Wednesday's SCOTUS ruling, along with the Koch/AFP misleading voting fraud packets that were sent out to over 100,000 NC voters, the GOP might succeed in cheating their way into, once again, owning the majority in the House, Senate, NC Supreme Court, and Governor's seat.
we keep hearing republicans are a shoe in for both houses Nov. 4th we know they started all this lying and cheating years ago but revamped in 2008 if polling reports are correct we know it's not because of popularity of their "PRINCIPLES" formerly known as "VALUES" but because of voter purging, suppression, gerrymandering and concentrating on those they can fool all the time with lies and misleading information. the continuation of their skullduggery just proves even they don't believe their own hype.
The Supreme Court made a similar ruling in Ohio, last week, and this will most likely happen in other states, causing 'confusion' and voting suppression, .
Think about it - if the GOP/Republicans felt they were going to win by votes, they would do everything possible to help voters get out to the polls. Instead, they will try to keep people at home on election day, because they know much of the public has had it with Koch-sucking, Republican obstruction. The GOP knows the people want Congress willing to work with the president and for the country, and those citizens will vote accordingly, if they have the chance.
What to do?
Share this information (especially with folks in NC). Encourage everyone you know to go register NOW. Don't wait for same day registration. Expect the GOP to try everything they can to suppress voting.
getting out and voting Nov. 4th will further insure our chances and their losses, don't let them continue to stereotype us as no midterm voters this election is more important than the presidential election we've seen what 2010 psych out did for them and even with PRES. he could only do so much, that dynamic is a reality no matter who sits in the big chair. we've watched congress kill the American spirit while republicans blame Pres. put their minions in and it doesn't really matter if Hilary runs and wins it will be the same game with another name another date and another one to blame. above all else remember it's ultimately your butt on the line if you won't fight for it expect it to get kicked. recognize
