Five House Democrats are asking the Obama administration to seek a refund from the companies that built the ObamaCare website, which has so far failed to work for most people trying to sign up for health insurance.
"It is no secret that the website has not performed in a satisfactory manner," wrote Reps. Ron Barber (D-Ariz.), William Enyart (D-Ill.), Pete Gallego (D-Texas) Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.) and Filemon Vela (D-Texas).
"As a result, we ask that you review the contracts and determine whether CGI Federal and/or any other company involved in the construction of the website has violated the terms of its agreement or is in constructive breach of the contract."
when you contract to provide a service and you fail to render a usable result them you have a contractual obligation to make it right or refund any payments, i find it hard to believe the WH lawyers would draw up a contract with no safety clause for the consumer in this case the federal gov't..
The Democrats made the request to Attorney General Eric Holder in a letter released today, but sent late last week. The letter says the administration must "seek to hold contractors accountable for their unsatisfactory work."
The letter was sent just days before the House is scheduled to hold two hearings on the failed ObamaCare rollout. On Tuesday, House Ways and Means will meet with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Administrator Marilyn Tavenner, and on Wednesday, House Energy and Commerce will hear from Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius.
i think this Pres. not one to shoot from the hip wanted to find out just what's what before addressing it not like right wing that always leap before thinking and coming off as usual half cocked with half the information, beating him up and trying to force answers to a preconceived notion that there was something nefarious going on, then again republican have tat knowledge of skulduggery so they want not to be the only ones but my response, it's lonely at the top.
