Decoding the fiscal cliff talk

http://www.politico.com/story/2012/11/decoding-the-fiscal-cliff-talk-84458.html?hp=f2

Judging from the headlines, the high stakes fiscal cliff talks in Washington are “stalled,” “stuck” and “stalemated.” Republicans are laughing at President Barack Obama’s initial offer.
The president is hitting the road to draw the people to his side for a long, bloody war that could drag into next year.
Doom, cloaked in the sinister garb of economy killing tax hikes and spending cuts, will surely arrive with the New Year and drive the United States back into recession.
Only that is not what is happening. And the true insiders know it.
have you noticed the right has for 4 years painted a picture of America spiraling into an abyss of no return if we keep the Pres. all the while creating those pot holes in the road to recovery that lead to that abyss.
Both sides privately acknowledge that they are playing familiar roles in a largely choreographed drama whose precise end may not be known, but is likely to include a sizable tax hike on the order of $1 trillion, spending cuts that get somewhere close to that number and a pledge to come back next year and try really, really hard to do fundamental tax and entitlement reform. Administration officials say privately they were not really surprised at the GOP’s frosty reaction to their initial salvo.
i've said before they do and say the vitriol then try and spit it on the Pres.'s shoes.  they say not serious, ready to "talk" does a serious congress fake a laugh with ambiguity before finding out what is there ignoring the Pres.'s record of willingness to compromise and electing instead to belittle the Black guy again, ask yourself who really is not serious.
all they have been is ready to talk, talk about how the Pres. has us headed for doom and gloom when they are the merchants of that product.
seriously or severely republican?
The White House notes that it has now put its wish list on the table, rallied Democrats to its side and pushed Republicans into the position of having to counter with painful spending cut proposals.
The White House is also very pleased that it presented these very same plans to a parade of CEOs who left the West Wing this week mostly praising Obama’s proposals as reasonable and begging for some kind of compromise. Republican aides also say they will eventually have to swallow at least some of what the president wants.
so why is Beohner still trying to protect those who are no longer in agreement with him and don't want to be protected force of habit to fight for the rich and defy "we the people", but when you continue after publicly being renounced well that's anal retentive.
