Seamus Heaney, the great Irish poet who died in August, wrote that in war there is “no such thing as innocent bystanding,” and he was all too right about that. Those who do nothing to end the slaughter are as complicit as those who brandish their weapons. One might watch and wait for years “balanced between destiny and dread,” Heaney wrote. But there comes a time when there is nowhere to hide from the shared responsibility of humanity.
i believe this to be a brush off and assuming we will if they won't taking the pressure of non activity and lack of moral fiber off them while also spending no blood or treasure.
are we suckers to the world it sure looks like it, anytime something happens abroad we run jump in our planes and ships a gung ho lead the charge, the world knows that, but are we doing it from care or from desire to be the one everybody looks to creating a false sense of love when it's laughable gullibility?
we go all in for others and snatch that same hand back when it comes to our own, what's up with that?
What Obama has found with his attempts to respect the nuances of his allies’ concerns, is that, given a chance to choose between competing evils most people prefer to climb on the fence.
Obama got 10 other nations to sign onto a letter calling for “a strong international response” to the Syrian regime’s use of chemical weapons. But most stopped far short of endorsing the planned air strikes. Only French President François Hollande appears to be entirely on board. The French and the Americans,“know that this is not the time to be silent spectators to slaughter," Secretary of State John Kerry declaredSaturday during a visit to Paris. But Hollande, like Obama, faces growing opposition at home. The rest of Washington’s old allies essentially are content to let the United States go into action without them.
time to come home and let them do for themselves we are spoiling the countries of the world our bite has taken too much away from what feeds us, charity begins at home.
if we don't do this won't we still be the same tomorrow, only difference is we chose to lick our own wounds so when something comes up again we will be more able to defend ourselves as well as sending a signal that it's their middle east you won't fight for it why should we, period.
